kjackson Posted January 30, 2022 Posted January 30, 2022 Here's a quick shot of the Gurglers I used for cutthroat. All are tied on saltwater hooks about size 6... They didn't have much other dressing than the tail, body, hackle and foam wing. Daryk Campbell Sr and BilletHead 2

It’s just the nature of it. Using one as a popper or dead drifting it you won’t have any issues. Different approaches, I usually work them in and across the riffles and where the riffle pours into the hole or into root suctions and often pull it under. I seldom fish tailouts for bass, but maybe I should. As far as poppers go, I've never found them useful except in ponds. I know others that have, but popping never works for me, so maybe I do it wrong. that white gurgler is about the only topwater lure I use for creek bass, though. I guess need to try dead drifting one too. Still learning.

Dead drifting one works but it isn’t very exciting. I even caught a 13 inch crappie dead drifting one in a tiny creek. Daryk Campbell Sr and tjm 2
Nick Adams Posted January 30, 2022 Posted January 30, 2022 Note, I did not tie the poppers. The beetle page are all my Franken-beetles that I saved for my panfish box. My decent beetles are in the trout box. Flysmallie, ColdWaterFshr, tjm and 1 other 4

Brian K. Shaffer Posted February 3, 2022 Author Posted February 3, 2022 Shaping the foam with scissors first... then hand sanding them down... was a fun project for sure! I want to see the pattern sheet for that. The legs have the real claspers like nature made them on the ant.
