Worth it on a 90hp outboard?

I've got a 21P turning point hustler 3 blade aluminum right now. Turns about 5700 wide open at 39mph. The 4 stroke is definitely sluggish out of the hole with a full livewell and a passenger but it does okay.

Whats your alls experience with stainless props on a mid size outboard? I tried one on the 60hp Merc that I used to have. I really couldn't tell a big difference. I eventually ran a 4 blade Mercury Spitfire on that motor which was my favorite overall.

Definitely not worth it.  The less you can invest in that motor, the better off you'll be.

Jus'sayin. 🤷‍♂️

Can't a guy just enjoy his bad investment for a little while at least?

I played around a ton with them on my tracker with a 75 opti.  Had it flashed to a 115.  Tried all kinds of props threw tons of money at it for a couple mph

So in other words, not worth it.

I had significantly improved hole shot on a 70hp Johnson on a 16’ aluminum bass boat…top end not much.

well, once i flashed my 75, i did have to get a bigger prop. but i tried different trophys, lasers, had some worked over by john hot props. And john let me try out 3-4 other props too.  I did finally found one i liked the best, but once i got close to the right pitch they were all within 1-3mph of each other.  i wasted a lot of money on a boat that was never designed to be fast...but i will say i could fly by all the other bass tracker 175's like they were sitting still......still not worth it.   My boat boat i have now has a 150 and its a heavy rig, i have a couple different props that work from my tracker but the one that came on it from the factory is the one that works the best.

The closest I've ever come to being killed in a boat was caused from me  "looking for that perfect prop".

I don't play that game anymore.  Top end RPM is within range? Check.

Holeshot is acceptable when the boat is loaded? Check.

Good! I'm done.   Another perfect job. 👍

Elaborate.  How can you almost get killed from a prop?  Unless it came undone.
