Maverickpro201 Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 I am making a run down to LOZ Tuesday and Wednesday. Anybody been fishing for Crappie? How is the bite and what depth? Will be putting in down by the Dam. Thanks
MOPanfisher Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 Honestly haven't heard much from LOZ, good or bad. But if you are gonna fish Wednesday it sounds like you better bring a rain suit. grizwilson 1
fishinwrench Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 I haven't been out to tinker with crappie but the guys I talk to, that have been, are catching them suspended under docks, or out away from the docks in relatively open water. 7-12' deep. Mostly 9-10 inchers with the occasional 11-12" thrown in. Watch a few Mike Baker videos and you'll catch on real quick. Maverickpro201 1

Maverickpro201 Posted February 17, 2022 Author Posted February 17, 2022 Got back last night from our crappie trip. Caught a lot of shorts and 2 limits of keepers. Most on a jig tipped w/minnows. Around and inside boat docks 6 to 12 ft deep. No pictures as I have a dumb phone, sorry. But thanks for your help. We fished mostly the northshore side. fishinwrench, snagged in outlet 3, Johnsfolly and 1 other 4
fishinwrench Posted February 17, 2022 Posted February 17, 2022 I'm gonna hit a certain bluff bank with fly gear during the next nice weather spell. Had a blast with them last year about this time. There's undeniably something about that 7' zone on this lake. And it doesn't seem to matter what part of the lake you're on.
Seth Posted February 17, 2022 Posted February 17, 2022 Sounds like they have been catching best out in the mouths of coves. Last time I was there it was the condo docks that were producing the best, but that has been several weeks ago. We may go give it a try on Monday. fishinwrench 1
