Weird experience @ Big Cedar/ Oakmont Boat Ramp

Has anybody seen a large pontoon style boat with a small stand up cabin blacked out windows? Slowly pulled up to my boat tonight flashed a red light into my face and wouldn’t answer to anything. Never saw a person either.

That’s weird.   Did you ask water patrol?

No I didn’t. I loaded my boat and went back to the lodge at Big Cedar. I did think water patrol or something at first but they never responded when I kept saying hello etc. wish I would have taken a photo of the boat

I thought you had to have a house in oakmont to use that ramp.   I’d ask around at the big cedar marina if they know anything about it.    They keep that up and they might get shot by someone more paranoid than you were.

Well crap I bet you’re right. The shuttle driver at Big Cedar said it was okay for us to use. I probably need better sources. 
I definitely won’t use it anymore after that experience.  I’ll let y’all know what they say tomorrow at the marina

you could use long creek for free if you are staying at BC or wilderness club.

good to know. What about paradise point? I assume so since we stay there with the Bluegreen deal sometimes

You have to stay there.   It’s a VERY shallow ramp anyway.  Better bring hip boats and have a lifted  truck or you and your truck are getting wet.  You have to back way out in the water to float a boat.
