Bill Babler Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 The Tackle Warehouse Pro Circuit hits Florida this weekend. Spoke to Michael yesterday and he said its mostly a post spawn deal. Fish are feeding and the water seems to be full of bass fry. He caught a Nine Pounder in practice and is pretty excited about the bite. Said the bite is really early as there is a shad spawn going on. You need to catch them quick. Here is the sad thing. He saw it sitting by a grass clump in 7' of water on his live scope. Pitched to it and the fish inhaled it. Said he saw the entire deal. What does this mean? Mike is a great fisherman, but still learning and still a bit old school with the forward facing sonar. If he is seeing fish that shallow and picking them out, just think what the kids are now seeing on their HD boat TV's. When you think of Florida you think of grass, weeds, and mats, heavy shallow cover. You catch them pitching flipping and top water. Now if these guys are looking at them thru the vegetation, its just turning the fishing world around. Be interesting to hear the MLF Live crew talk about this. Michael has a win in Florida and this is a five fish derby, he is in great spirits. Starts this weekend with the nasty weather here at home, so you all tune in and support our local guys. dtrs5kprs, arsenal1477, big c and 7 others 9 1 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Quillback Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 I would like to see Michael win it. I'll have to do some watching, looks like tomorrow is going to be a snow day. I have read comments on other fishing boards where guys who primarily fish weedy, shallow lakes didn't think FFS would be helpful. Sounds like that thinking might be wrong. I bet when you're fishing for $100K and you see a big bass emerge on that scope and start swimming for your lure, your heartbeat probably gets a little faster. dtrs5kprs, m&m, magicwormman and 1 other 4
dtrs5kprs Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 Inches and inches of snow up here. Heckuva start to spring break for the kids. Good weather for making jigs and packing tackle. That's about it.
Quillback Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 Couple of inches here, but not sticking to the roads, however lows in the teens tonight so might be some ice issues tomorrow AM on the roads. Supposed to hit 60 Sunday, so hopefully by Monday this snow will be a bad memory. dtrs5kprs and magicwormman 2
Quillback Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 Heck they don't start until Sunday. For some reason I thought it was today. Oh well, I have some tackle to organize. dtrs5kprs 1
