Agree - when the sun rises tomorrow the females will be in and you’ll have to take a ticket for a chance to fish the spawning pockets.  There are lots of bass boats out there today.

5's sure were a dime a dozen though.   

That wind was insane today.   I'm glad I wasn't out there.

Looks like the average check fish was almost 1/2 pound heavier last year. These weights look more like a fall bash.

It's always been my belief that the biggest fish are the first ones to go shallow in the Spring.   But all bets are off this year.  I've been plagued by short fish every time I've been out so far this spring.   

So far this is my best '22 bass, and I had to wade through 15-20 shorts to get it.

A 7.58 was finally weighed in at Ivy Bend during the 1-3pm time frame. I bet the guy that was leading it thought he had it wrapped up this late in the tournament.

I have a gallon bag full of Chompers brand hula grubs that I haven't used in years. That was my favorite thing to use for years and then I just gravitated towards jigs. Not sure why.

With the weather an afternoon fish is not surprising….and that’s a good fish and will probably hold up but you never know.  I’ve been crappie fishing a bit and with the weather it’s a last hour or so thing for me - not even trying with the BBB guys on the water.  I went out for 20 minutes last night and had my 15.  Had a couple 13” fish and lost one at the boat that would have been 15” or better.

A Grn.pumpkin/black flake 5" Chomper on a 5/16oz. Mitch Fields craw head is a staple of mine.   I order the grubs direct, MINUS the garlic..... because back in the day EVERYONE was throwing garlic scented baits, and I had it in my head that the fish were getting conditioned to it.    😁 

Probably doesn't matter anymore.
