just wait and see folks it is coming and we won't be able to afford a thing. The tourism industry will suffer tremendously this summer

Go past any restaurant in the evening and they are jam packed.  If gas prices were limiting spending you'd think folks would eat at home.  Doesn't anyone cook anymore.  Heck, breakfast for 2 at the local cafe will cost over 30 bucks.

Wonder if that was the big brown you'd been seeing? Hopefully it survives. If not, way she goes. Just need to educate folks on proper handling and hopefully they learn.

That is so odd with the scuds and trophies. It almost sounds like they were running around in giant schools, eating in one stretch, then going to another. Pretty cool, honestly. Or, like I was thinking, maybe it's the water itself. Maybe dead spots of low DO, high leaf tannins, etc. I have no idea, just thinking aloud. Time to do some research.

I miss fishing. Haven't fished since I started the new job. Time to change that soon..

Hopefully fish made it... I'd love for these bigger ones to be tagged like they do the sharks.  That's a big bruiser for sure,  and yeah handling those big ones without being prepared is tough.  I know the feeling all too much :)

Ryan I feel ya on fishing... haven't trout fished once this month and it makes me sad.  Last trout was on April 2nd.  Sad 🐼 indeed...

As always guys thanks for keeping those of us who live far away updated. Love hearing the stories as we get ready to come down each year. Hopefully the gates closing keep the fishing going for everyone.

Not the same brown.  Way too far away from where I saw it.

DO is excellent right now.  We don't see low DO till late July at the earliest.  Water temp is great too.  About 54.  Not sure what it will be with the gates off.

Do you think they'll slow down releases/turbines enough for wading at the dam?

Usually in the past they would slow release at 917, but who knows at this point.   Lots of variables and rain impacts above and below...

Some of my best fishing came after they close the gates though.   If they drop to 2 units might have to make the drive down.

Phil the guys who caught the big brown I wonder if they posted pics anywhere?  I like trying to track them through pics and markings if they get caught again. Would be interesting.   Gotta back to the idea of trying to catalog the big ones.
