I’ve been a fan of the spicy/hot flavor game for most of my adult life. I will typically eat a raw jalapeño on most foods, or raw as i weed the garden. As I’m aging into the night, it appears my ability to go beyond a habanero is almost gone. I picked one last evening while watering, and it about tore me up. A year or 2 ago i could eat them with no issues.

I made burritos for dinner Wednesday night, and chopped some jalapeños and white onion we picked, and added the proper amount to the top of my dinner. Being the only one in this house that eats anything hotter than taco sauce, they just laugh when my eyes start to water.

Here is a jar of mixed jalapeños and habanero i canned in 2017. This will go well with meatloaf tonight.

I like to play with the exotics. An old Army bud in NC had a friend who grew them & he'd hook me up with pickled Carolina Reapers, Trinidad Scorpion salsa & other assorted preparations of the like. Most of the deer I harvest become jerky & my marinade for 10lbs of jerky typically includes 6-7 whole pickled Reapers, the same number of dried ghost chilis & a bottle of Scorpion hot sauce.

Another NC friend got into the spice game a couple years ago & gave me a couple bottles of his hot sauce 'fore we moved up here. The mango habanero is great, but his "Blood Sacrifice"- Carolina Reapers & blood oranges, is next level.

There is a place down in Branson, on the Landing that is my go-to for sauces. They have a few stores throughout the country. My favorite is this. Man, i put it on everything.

Another i like to use on toast is from Cowboy’s Touch called Habanero Jam. As the name says, it’s got a good flavor for those breakfast foods.

Probably not a hot/spicy as you guys would like, but we made jalapeno pepper jelly last weekend.

One of my standard breakfasts is a scrambled egg, cheese and jalapeno quesadilla.  I like spicy but habanero's and anything hotter are on the other side of my line. But do carry on, it makes me sweat just to read about what you guys are eating.
