I have lightweight and neoprene chest waders but am interested in hip boots.  Cheapos if possible.  To knock around in while in the boat on the river.  I also have knock off muck boots that have been a great purchase from BassPro.  Anybody have any suggestions?

If you are looking for waders, neoprene waders are hot as hell in the summer, but good in the winter.

You can't beat Simms GoreTex products for year around comfort and durability.

You can find some great deals on Ebay and Facebook Marketplace.

I bought a pair for the jet boat at Wally World, around $50.  Rubber boot with neoprene upper.  I toss them in for winter fishing in case we stuff it and need to get out deeper than just Muck's.  If I am going to be in and out, I put the waders on.

I have had a pair of Lacrosse hip boots for quite awhile.  I only wear them a couple times a year when fishing for bluegill at a certain pond.  A little heavy but they are tough enough to stomp through a briar patch..

Be sure to get ones with the straps that go around your calf, just below the knee, if you are gonna wade through mud.

I have a Cabela's pair of hip boots that have lasted me quite a while.  I really like them, and have worn them in warm weather and cold weather.  Comfortable in both.  If they ever develop a leak, I'll probably get an identical pair if they are still available.

plus one on that calf harness, boots without them is worthless. And be sure to try them on and walk a bit before buying, rubber does stretch or "break in".
