BilletHead Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 @Ketchup @Maverickpro201 and whoever is interested. I know for sure you two like peppers. This is what I do, and I think you should try this. I also like peppers. Some heat but the flavor is mostly what I crave. I do this with Jalapenos, Serranos, habaneros and others. I think my favorite is using poblano peppers. Any you choose the steps are the same. First split and gut peppers. No seeds and little veins. Don't worry the flavor will be concentrated and you will still have the heat. Put them in the smoker. I have run mine in a Bradley smoker using the expensive pucks but now run in Trager using pellets of your choice. I run mine 165 for a low Temp on super smoke. For several hours. Pulled they look like this, but you can go until they get hard and crispy if you want. These now go into a dehydrator for a day or two until they are crunchy and I mean crunchy dry. This is important for a good grind. Out of dehydrator ready for the coffee grinder. This is what went into the smoker! can you say dry? Throw a bunch in and spin! VID_20220809_165701929.mp4 Do not and I repeat do not take a good whiff of this. VID_20220809_165726087.mp4 Jar it up tight. Uses are endless and it only takes a sprinkle. Eggs, popcorn, seasons everything. Smoky pepper goodness. Ketchup Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 Oh my. The missy was sitting next to me as I watched the vids. She said we don’t have one of those grinders, but knowing her like i do, before weeks done we will. Does the flavor of smoke change the taste at all? Sad to say but she bought me a new smoker for Christmas and I haven’t opened it up. She just reminded me of that, too. 😁 We just had a mexican concoction she got off pinterest, kinda like a breaded taco, and this here would have went well with it. Thanks for the share. The smoke adds another element to the pepper, but IMO does not subtract from the flavor. This is just a coffee grinder. An extra one dedicated for spice grinding. Not an expensive tool for the kitchen. I grind all kinds of spices in it. I took honey and added the various pepper dusts to it. Everyone tastes like the pepper infused into it. Go lightly until you know how much you want. A little goes a long way. All that is missing is seeds and moisture. Gives an Umami flavor. The coffee grinder is as Alton Brown would say is a multi-tool in the kitchen. I had a biology teacher that was quite the showman. He would have a Bunson burner in front of him going. He was talking about medicine men and witchcraft. Pretty soon he made a motion towards the lit burner and whoooooooosh a billow of bright fire appeared. Told us he had palmed some mushroom powder and pitched it into the burner. Said pollen would do the same. Was an attention getter for sure. Maverickpro201 Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 Thanks BilletHead. I have all the things to do this with and will have to do it, as per directions. BilletHead 1

So don't smoke around grain storage 🤔 During our first day of physics in HS the teacher placed a paint can on the lab bench. He pulled off a piece of tape from the bottom and the lid of the can. He lit a lighter and a small flame appeared when he waved it above the hole in the lid. It burned for a bit and we all began to ignore it. About 5 mins and BOOM! the lid blew off and hit the ceiling. That got everyone's attention😉. He had filled the can with propane and once the gas and the oxygen within the can were equal that set off the explosion.

Correct it happens and we hear about it every year. In Welding class, we used to take a small aluminum can like pudding came in. Put it on edge of the welding table. Shoot some acetylene in the crack where it came over, then a shot of oxygen. Light the cutting torch head and reach way out and touch it off. OH MY that can would blast off to the high ceiling and bounce off. Very loud ear hurting boom when it got lit. The now top that was the bottom would bend out. A mini rocket! Looking back, I have no idea how any of us came out of things we did without getting hurt.
