oneshot 1 Posted August 12, 2022 Posted August 12, 2022 I know some are going to disagree with me. Ordered 50 Cornish X. Looked on FB Cornish X $8 apiece, which really is a good price but have to go get them and butcher them. My wife said we could get Whole Chicken for $7. Cool! Got to thinking can get Leg Quarters for less than $1 a pound and we both like dark meat over white. Remembering Cajun cooking Rice. My wife says Rice keeps better than Potatoes. So more Rice and Beans. Then there is fishinwrench why garden and raising stuff? Really get figuring don't save that much but keeps me busy. oneshot
Quillback Posted August 12, 2022 Posted August 12, 2022 Used to be leg quarters were real cheap at the local grocery. Not anymore. It was weird, you could get half a dozen leg quarters for less than you'd pay for a half dozen thighs. Same size thighs on the quarters as the ones by themselves.

Many years ago I bought a little bag of dried grass shrimp for bait. Wasn't catching anything so heck shrimp are good right. Not them things, about the second or third chew the flavor hit. I couldn't spit them quick enough and couldn't spit the after taste out for hours. Carl1969, Daryk Campbell Sr, BilletHead and 1 other 4
oneshot 1 Posted August 14, 2022 Author Posted August 14, 2022 Really I'm sensitive to this stuff. Use to I would skin a Fox then everything I ate for a week later taste like Fox. I can do everything to be clean with Stink bait and after awhile just smell in the air I'm tasting it. I will just about eat anything I had Chicken Fries awhile ago and they was good. oneshot

But it's doubtful that he/she paid more for bait shrimp than consumable shrimp. Just attempting to increase the profit margin a bit. They don't sell much of it.....and it costs money to keep it frozen.
