mic Posted September 6, 2022 Posted September 6, 2022 Due to multiple issues, I went trout fishing for the first time in five or six years. I decided it was time to get back on the horse and drove 3 hours to the Ozarks. I felt it was too hot for my favorite wild trout creeks so I went to Montauk. Channeling my deceased fishing partner and father, I had my best trout park day ever. I like to think he sent a fish or two my way. However it was bitter sweet using some of his gear... reminds me that he is both gone and with me. I also started Tenkara fishing this day (for trout). I ended up with a double digit day. My best three flies were a disco midge, yellow crackerback, and an parachute adams. I caught equal amounts on the crackerback on top and pulled under. I have to be honest... I wasn't expecting much from the tenkara rod, but it was deadly on this trip. I would even follow someone out of hole and catch a couple. I think it had to do with no drag and no fly line hitting the water. I ended up fishing from 10-6. It was better in the morning, but I caught fish all day. Tight lines all. ness, Johnsfolly, Flysmallie and 7 others 10
