England?

Every since I can remember we have been  close with England. 

I go back on history and we fought a war with England breaking away. 

But it is like Japan which we are close even after they attacked us.

I guess over time see that it was a mistake and go on.

What was the mistake that you are referencing, the revolutionary war, the war of 1812 or something else?

It's not like the Hatfields and the McCoys.  Most nations aren't good at holding grudges and care a lot more about what's good for their country.

Were you good with the post-WWII Marshall plan?  With the formation of NATO?  With Eisenhower Doctrine?  What about Detente policy to end the cold war?  Or going WAY back, were you okay to TJ forming a US Navy to open shipping lanes and protect private trade in from the Tripoli pirates back at a time when our country was still in its infancy and such endeavor was wildly expensive?  Can you forgive those pirates?

My wife was married to a Muslim and know several. 

Was a friend of a Japanese Woman that couldn't speak a word of English but we got through that. 

England payed my Ancestors to come here.

Because you're conflating religions with nations.  Religions sure do carry grudges, and not just Muslims and Christians either.

Over the course of Amerucan History England has been more of a friend than an adversary.  If England were to be attacked tomorrow we would be there for them and I feel certain they would be here for us if needed.  I have zero interest in all the monarchal goings on but then I am not British and to them.it is important so I would stand proud next to them while they mourn the passing of their queen and celebrate a new king.

^^  It's their country.  If they want a royal family, then have at.  They're a number one ally, that's for sure.
