Not motor related but curious if you’re aware of any boat salvage yards I might be able to find some decent compartment and livewell lids for a 02 Ranger 518?

Pontoon, old runabouts, and Bayliner scrapyards.....yeah there's a few.   But I know of none with any Ranger bassboats in the mix. 

If you have the old lid, or a matching one, I can teach you how to make a mold and build one from fiberglass and plywood.  It isn't too terribly difficult.

I still have all the lids. I considered having someone build new ones out of aluminum as well.

20 years ain't old.   My Ranger lids are 32 years old, and probably have at least another 20 left in them.

I fixed the 2 big lids on the rear deck  of the 520 that I had. I just cut a piece of I think was 1/4” plywood that would fit the inside recess on the bottom of the lid and glassed it in with fiberglass cloth and resin. Made them a little heavier but the were solid. Then painted them white underneath to match the other lids .

You can stiffen up a soft or sagging hatch lid with a piece or two of 90° aluminum  riveted to the bottom.
