We use a saws all with my itty bitty Harbor Freight generator out in the woods where we process them.

We did this one this afternoon. IMG_1612.jpg

I very seldom use a saw on a deer.  Occasionally to split the pelvis but usually a couple whack with a hatchet.  Legs get taken off at the last joint, cut tendons, twist crackle pop.  May not work this year, I tried it on a deer the other day and something about that particular movement that my shoulder didn't like.   Completely off topic, I ordered a new knife (I am a knife slut) from Midway on Sunday.  Tracking it progress, it went to KC, then Ohio, then Maryland.  They ain't gonna make anything off shipping this time!  Actually I think it was free shipping, might get it before I have a deer to gut, depends on my wife.

He caped it.  We used the saw to cut off the head and feet.  We bone them out in the field and leave the parts for yhe yotes.  He has had better with a rifle and usually does a European mount but since it was with a bow he is having it mounted.

On Deer I use to basically debone it. Use Loppers on Front Legs at the joint and Neck.

If a person going to Mount it. I always just cut all around the body at the front Shoulder.  Let Taxidermist Cap it.

We was going to use the saw on other Butchering. Got a Goat and a Lamb to do.

Grinding is our most time consuming .

Nice Buck.
