oneshot 1 Posted November 10, 2022 Posted November 10, 2022 What is the deal on the guy drowning at Barclay? oneshot
jdmidwest Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 Probably got in the water and could not swim, but I am just guessing. Terrierman 1 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson

Gavin Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 It’s the Same story every time. Here, then gone. Drowning is silent.
fishinwrench Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 There were 2 drownings that same day, the other was here in the Gravois arm of LO. Not sure which case this applies to, but in one of them the guy was found tangled up in some braided fishing line and apparently couldn't get to shore.
oneshot 1 Posted November 11, 2022 Author Posted November 11, 2022 Well they said the guy drowned and it was suspicious so it's under investigation. I thought maybe my wife had heard something but she hadn't. I fell in years ago when it was cold. Couldn't get to the pickup fast enough. oneshot
Members T.J. Clarke Posted November 11, 2022 Members Posted November 11, 2022 Very poor reporting on this. You would think a major question to ask is "what was he doing, fishing, boating", etc. A key point in any story like this. News said he was 75 year old.

They Fly Fish there a lot. Could have stepped in a hole fill his Wadders like happen to a woman by me. But that wouldn't be suspicious. oneshot
tjm Posted November 12, 2022 Posted November 12, 2022 Full waders don't weigh any more than empty waders, in the water. I've swum with full waders twice. They do get a bit heavy when you try to climb out, which is why I won't wear stocking foot waders, bootfoots are just easier to escape from.

I don't know just going by what I was told on that one woman. Been years since I used Waders I bank fish. And I get in bad shape doing this. oneshot
