When I'm fishing on the bottom I put a swivel and Leader on the end or a small Split Shot on to keep my larger Weight sliding on down.

Would it work to just use a Bobber Stop to keep the Weight from sliding down?

I fly fish so have no real knowledge of the bobber stops, but in my mind they are slidable to adjust for depth, and that should   make it possible for the stop to slide right on down to the line's end. I'd stick to the swivel. When I did bait fish, I used to put the weight on a dropper with the intention that it could be pulled off if it caught up in a rock crevice or such.

No, you can't effectively substitute a swivel with a bobber stop on a Carolina rig.

Swivels are cheap, and if by chance they aren't cheap enough......at least use a split ring, as they are even cheaper than bobber stops.

He's fishing bait on the bottom, not a C rig.  And as long as the weight won't slide over the bobber stop, it WILL work.

Will NOT !  😅

If the weight doesn't slide over it, it will probably jam it up inside the nose of the weight and get partially stuck, unless you put a bead on it too.......in which case.....what purpose does it serve?     A better choice would be a split shot.  Also cheaper than a bobber stop....and easier to install.

And listen here Roland, a "C-rig" is a C-rig regardless of whether you have a plastic lizard, a Brush Hog, OR a wad of chicken livers on the hook.
