mic
I fished this once many moons ago when I first started fishing. I actually caught some. Anyway, anyone have suggestions on areas or flies. Message me directly if that helps.
ColdWaterFshr
This time of year, keep an eye on the gauge at Newburg, especially if it has rained recently. It will be murky and tough to fish at anything above 400 cfs. Milldam Hollow gets pounded by locals who all seem to know the stocking schedule. The further you can get away from that access, which, be careful, we have seen sketchy people there every time we go, . . . either upstream or downstream from the access, the better chance of success you will have. Best way to do this by canoe or kayak. The fish aren't too picky. Usual stuff works, mostly nymph rigs. And don't park at Vida Slab bridge (W), you will be ticketed. Its actually an underrated GEM of a stream. Many, many, good spots. I would go there any day over Cardiac/Suicide on the Meramec. jdmidwest
I always kept up by Lane Springs. Fish were few, but you could catch a few. That lower part was always sketchy. All of the Rolla area is different now.. ColdWaterFshr 1 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. His roommate was carjacked at knifepoint last night getting off work bartending his first night on the job. His car was found this morning in St. Robert with engine still running, in a ditch, drugs in it, the knife, and the punks cell phone. Police know who it is, just haven't reeled him in yet. Never would've thought this could happen in Rolla. St. Louis, yes. Rolla??

Such a "family friendly" place to visit and vacation. 🙄 There's a tighter location pattern to it though......Always within puking distance of a popular drinking/partying establishment. mic
Thanks for the advice all. I wasn't able to make it down, got sick... where you don't want to be to far from a restroom. I think it was minor food poising. Anyway... I had a nice mini vacation at home. I upgraded a telescope and bought a new one so not all was lost in STL area.
