ColdWaterFshr Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 We are losing access, but don't throw in the towel. Talk to landowners, most in Missouri are good folks. Not all are friendly, and a good many are paranoid. A few will give you access if you do right by them. Pick up trash. Tell them you are with a stream team and there to pick up trash. Even if you're not. Pick up as much trash as you can. I try to do this as a habit anyway, wherever I am. Be respectful and do what you say you're going to do. Leave when you say you will. Lock their gate, say "thanks", give a bottle of wine. Its not complicated. Daryk Campbell Sr 1
fishinwrench Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 I'll tell ya what it becoming increasingly common, is big-money city pecker heads leasing land to hunt/fish on.....and then acting like they OWN IT. Be careful if confronted by some of these clowns that feel like since they paid someone for access to a place that they can be as crazy as they wanna be when they encounter another human on the property.
Gavin Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 Hunting private land is expensive, but it beats standing in line or dealing with the masses of country ghetto trash that forks up almost everything in this state. Big city pecker heads are easier to deal with, they usually arent on meth or fentanyl.

Personally I find country ghetto trash easier to come to terms with.....but maybe that's just because I know how to communicate with them. They don't want the law involved, are full of bluffs, and they are never as ready to scrap as they initially act like they are. Big city pecker heads think they can just lawyer-up.....and have nothing to worry about. They want you to swing on them because that gives them fuel for litigation......and justification for introducing firearms into the mix.
tjm Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 I think lessees have just about all the legal rights of owners when it comes to posting or allowing access. They darn well should act they own it.
