My neighbor and I went to Cape Fair today.  It was 27° when we arrived and 48° when we left.  We saw few boats today.  We fished from Cape to Piney.  We used spinner baits, swim baits, shaky and Ned.  The only thing that produced was the Ned.  We nrver had a bite on anything else.  We caught fish everywhere we stopped except for the first place.  Many colors of TRDs produced with June bug and Alabama craw being best.  We only had 3 keepers but we caught a total of 57 bass in 5 1/2 hours.

We couldn’t find anything deeper than 10’.  The surface temp was 49-53° and the color of sassafras tea with a spoonful of milk.

Most will struggle with your water color analogy 😁😁

When I was a kid a neighbor lady that lived in a total hollow out in the woods about a mile from us made it all the time.

When I got off the bus I would pick up her mail from the box and walk it down to her. You could smell it 100 yards from her house.

She had several goats and 3 maybe 4 hives. She would make me tea with sassafras goat milk and honey.  She would serve it in a cup with a saucer and tell me to pour a little in the saucer so I wouldn’t burn my lips

Always had either some kind of cookie or white cake with butter icing.

Have no idea what ever happened to her. She was really a wonderful person, but was totally alone.   My mom would  go and visit her and she did have an old pickup to go to town.

Wow was I way off topic, got a bit sentimental on the tea deal.

I figured some of you would be familiar with the poor man’s root beer.  I haven’t had any in years but keep planning to make some.

Title made me think you were going to be talking about Major League Fishing.

57 fish is a BUNCH even if small. Makes for a fun day.
