Hawg Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 Whoa, those fins are a bright shade of green. Is that a spawn thing?

I don't know how long the coloration lasts... it was very faint or non-existent on the fish I was catching last Fall. I'll do my best to help you if/when you come back this way. When we lived out that way I knew that the pool below Kinkaid lake in Illinois had a bunch of bowfin. Then we moved before I made it over there in the spring🙄. Daryk Campbell Sr, FishnDave and Ham 3

I should have mentioned that going back out to fish with you in the spring is a much better alternative than Aug🤣. Though I still want another shot at those grass carp and shortnose gar.

I've been putting off going back, but Grass Carp are getting active now. Had 2 try to eat my indicator last weekend at a different place. We had a couple high water events this year already, I'm hopeful more fish have migrated into the creek. Hopefully the weeds haven't grown up yet. Daryk Campbell Sr and Johnsfolly 2
Daryk Campbell Sr Posted April 12, 2023 Posted April 12, 2023 I know of a creek with good acces and many grass carp near St Louis, but not St Charles area.
