I don't pay attention to that park but I'm pretty sure I had an automated email that the hatchery was being rebuilt, you can't do that when it's full of fish. The weeds  won't hinder the excavators at all though, so don't worry about them.

The best thing that could happen to any of our fisheries would be reduced catch rate, if reduced numbers of fish in the spring results in fewer anglers, the long term result will be improvident. There are at least three times more people using RRSP than it should have throughout the summer. That heavy usage/wear is reflected in every aspect of park management. an average mall parking lot is more pleasant most days.

Also Bennett  needs trout cleaning stations instead of dumping it in spring

You mean....A buzzard baiting area?

No!  🙄

You would think that they could recycle the trout carcasses for fertilizer or fis food for other hatcheries like Chesapeake and such. We are really wasteful as a society and we should really get with the program.

2022, first phase was/is field investigations, surveying, flow monitoring, geotechnical investigations, locating utilities, and development of a groundwater test wells - that kind of work doesn't leave much sign. The construction phase begun this year is estimated to take two years to complete. and that will vary with the weather if it's like any construction I ever worked on. Rain, wind, snow, extremes of heat and cold are all delaying factors when digging and pouring concrete. And in my 45 years  every project has had  changes made half way through that typically extend the time. It should be operation in '25? Only time will tell.

They have a construction trailer set and fenced off the hatchery race way work area. Looks like a portion of the stream will be closed off soon. Fence is up from stone bridge to entrance to hatchery office/shop, signs up closing area. Folks were fishing off dam but might end soon.
