Hawg
We met Steve Rinella at Scheels a few months back at a book signing for his new children’s book about getting involved in the outdoors. My son came across the Meateater show on his own, surprisingly, as we don’t allow him watch very much unsupervised. He absolutely loves the show and we were amazed about how focused he was on it considering that it’s relatively low budget compared with the shows that they try to push on children these days. Anyway, we bought the book and got to meet Steve with the whole family as a birthday gift for my son. He seemed very genuine and I got the sense that he recognizes that he’s been blessed with a great career, and he knows he has his audience to thank for a lot of it. My son was starstruck, and we had him sign a crank bait. As a bonus we got to meet Clay Newton, who is Steve’s friend and has been on the show a few times, and coincidentally is the subject my son’s favorite episodes. Clay makes a habit of finding mules on craigslist that are “untrainable” and training them to be used for hunting trips in the Ozarks of Arkansas. Pretty sweet. Clay just happened to drive up to see Steve and surprise him right when we got there and Steve made him stand up front and shake hands with people ha ha. trythisonemv and Mitch f 1

Kinda funny watching a mob of fish chasing a carcass down the spring branch tearing it to shreds. All those salmon dying each year in the Alaska streams is what makes that a great ecosystem. It is critical component for it. I bet its nasty up there too. That's a good point nomolites
