The nail is really long. I will get you a pic of what I use. Yes, pulling from other end helps.

Here’s what I thought.  Ask around, YouTube, try it the best I can.  Or option B.  Ask @fishinwrench, get the quick down and dirty but get humiliated on a public forum.  😂

Here is what I have @snagged in outlet 3 Pete,

The drift pin will make it through all the grates but not make it all the way through the foot.

Thanks @BilletHead!

You are welcome, Pete. The nail is approx. 3/16" diameter.

I don't think a single one of my grates is as straight as that.  Of course, I've had my motor for 17 years now, and have never tried to bend around on them.

Mine are more wavy than straight.  I always bend them out  to get the big rocks out.

What did you use to get the whole pin out?    Did you pull it out from the other end once you got it started with the nail?

Be careful doing it that way.   If it stretches the piece...and you remove it and pound it out straight....it may not fit when you go to reinstall it, and you'll need to re-drill to fudge the hole.

Then the SOB will be rattling all the time.

I use wedges to straighten them while still attached to the foot.
