Bill Babler Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Mizzou one of the top defenses in the country loses it’s DCord to LSU. Blake Baker recently signed a contract extension with Mo. a 3 year deal at 2.1 Million a year making him the third highest paid coordinator in salary in the nation. Baker’s wife is from Louisiana and played D1 sports at LSU. Brian Kelly offered the Baker’s a chance to come home with a 3 year salary of 2.5 million a year making him the highest paid coordinator in college sports They also paid Missouri a 1 million buyout. He will be missed, but it’s nice he goes home with that much money. LSU however loses a Heisman Trophy winning QB and the majority of their offense. They’re projected to finish 7 th. In 24 in the Revamped SEC. BK’s job will be on the line. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Quillback Posted January 6 Author Posted January 6 Hate to see him go, but that's a lot of ,money. grizwilson 1
Bill Babler Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Being reported unofficially that Drink got both an extension and raise to 9.75 million per year thru 2028. That puts him in 4th. position in the SEC. Lane Kiffin from all reports is about to jump to second pushing 12 million a year. Cost of doing business is going up like crazy. Don’t know if y’all know this but these salaries are really more than what’s stated. Good friend was an assistant coach for the Razorbacks until Sam came along. On top of his salary they got a house, 2 cars, insurance, clothing and food stipends. That pretty much covers it. Pretty good work if you can get it. grizwilson 1 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Quillback Posted January 6 Author Posted January 6 I have heard of the extra perks. It is crazy the amount of money being thrown around college football. bfishn 1

I was sure hoping they'd bring him home when they hired Petrino. I'd rather have your friend as OC any day. And he was also in charge of recruiting for the state of Arkansas the last few years he was here. Did a fine job of that, too.
Bill Babler Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Tremendous man that loves the Hogs. One of their own. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

And you get two heads for one, essentially, given that his dad was a multiple state title-winning coach at the highest high school level in Arkansas. You know they sit around and discuss X's and O's a lot.

In case anyone wonders, we're talking about Barry Lunney, Jr., former Hogs QB and son of one heckuva high school coach who won eight state titles at Fort Smith Southside and Bentonville, both of which play in Arkansas' largest classification. The younger Lunney is a pretty good hand at fishing, too. He served as interim head coach at Arkansas in 2021, went to UT-San Antonio as OC when a UA coaching buddy became head coach there, then was hired as OC at Illinois by former Hogs head coach Bret (I'll Have a Double) Bielema. The Illini promptly became one of the most-improved offenses in the Big 10. Quillback 1
Champ188 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 And one last thing about college sports: What kind of man is Nick Saban? The kind who retires not for his own gratification, but because at 72 he could no longer promise recruits (both players and coaching staff) that he would be there another 4-5 years and didn't want to mislead anyone. In my opinion, hiring Dabo from Clemson would certainly give the Tide another man of impeccable character at the helm. Same probably goes for Norvell at Florida State. Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss? Not so much. Again, my opinion. Quillback 1
