Maverickpro201 Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Can we blame God for that stupidity, or did Man force that ridiculous inbreeding? So now we know what happened to you fishinwrench🤣 fishinwrench 1
MrGiggles Posted March 17 Posted March 17 It's the trendy cattle dogs/heelers that I have the most trouble with on the mail route. Snarling, tire biting, sneaky, hateful critters. German shepherds are hit and miss. I don't run across pits very often, I think most owners with half a brain are aware of the liability and keep them locked up. -Austin
oneshot 1 Posted March 17 Author Posted March 17 My Taekondo Instructor had a German Shepard. I went to his house. Walked right in the yard. He says you don't care for your life. He didn't know I had been giving the Dog Treats and talking with him. Go in pet the Dog and go on. But on the other hand had a Doberman come at me. Owner says he won't hurt you. Turn my back and the Dog had me. Worst I ever had was my Black and Tan had me down and if I hadn't spoke I think he would have killed me but he didn't recognize me. oneshot

I'd love to let my lab run with me on bike rides, but there's a pitbull every 1/2 mile that never bother ME but if he was running with me there'd be a bloodbath. The last one cost me almost 400.00 in vet bills so I'm not anxious to do THAT again. Terrierman 1
Terrierman Posted March 17 Posted March 17 As long as we're talking about memorably dangerous dogs - My main quail hunting buddy when we were growing up had a Collie - looked just like Lassie. She tolerated NOBODY unless one of her family was out and talked to her before anyone opened a truck door. I learned that lesson the hard way. Another one was some kind of dingo cattle dog cross - named Hog Dog for the obvious reason. She was fine as long as you didn't want to get in her truck. Another buddy had a Rottweiler. She ate her young. And then got moved on when the first child arrived and she didn't much like him either. Notice a trend here? Most of the dangerous dogs I've come across were females. And two of my female Jack Russells were pretty tough too. One of them actually learned how to get a snout bite and subdue coons and groundhogs. The other one just didn't care, took hold and stayed that way until dug to.
oneshot 1 Posted March 17 Author Posted March 17 My Jack Russell was a Hunter problem him it was what he wanted to hunt. He was a good baby. Although he did send me to the Hospital to get Stitches in my hand. I was breaking up a Dog Fight in the dark and got bit. oneshot Terrierman 1

Dogs that require brushing are for little old ladies with nothing else to do between hair appointments, or trips to the flea market. 😅 I got him because nobody wanted him and I need a little Dog because I'm older. oneshot

He craps mountains! And occasionally pukes like a 400lb. drunken linebacker. There's nothing like finding a lost pair of panties or a whole sock in a pile of puke. 🙄 Great way to start the day!
MOPanfisher Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Pitt bulls can be extremely friendly and protectiv3 family dogs, and at the sight of another dog turn in murderous brutes. The meanest dog I ever owned was a mixed breed mutt, looked like half bear and half zombie. As long as you never got to within 4 feet of the truck bed he was in you were fine, any closer and you risked losing a hand. Otherwise he was a weir dog, his great joy in life was finding and killing skunks. Herding dogs like heelers and cattle dogs are notorious for chasing cars and nipping heels.

I had a Doberman when I was a teenager. He was a really good boy, could take him anywhere.....as long as there was no chance that a black kid would be riding a bicycle. White person on a bike= No problem. Black person walking= No problem. But a black person on a bike triggered him somehow 🤷♂️ After his 3rd incident he pretty much lived the rest of his life in a pen. 😔 I'll not own another dog that is a danger to anyone else, or any other dog, without good reason. Period. Cats are on their own ! 😅 Terrierman 1
