Best "sit in one spot" fishing in the area, trying to take a friend with mobility issues.

Got a friend who wants to go out fishing, but they can't kayak or wade or hike, at least not very far. We used to fish at the Mutton Creek Marina back in the day, they had a fishing dock that was pretty incredible. It was covered and had a big cut out in the center, so you could fish off the outside or the inside. Go there with a bucket of minnows and you could catch crappie all day long. 

But since that place closed, We've struggled to find anything like that. I transitioned to doing much more mobile fishing, wading/hiking/kayaking, and I have a lot of fun with it, but he can't do that, and so we haven't fished together in years. 

So, does anyone know any good spots where a couple of guys can plop down with some beer and tackle and stay pretty much in one spot and have a good afternoon fishing? I almost don't even care about the species.

I've tried several of the fishing docks around Stockton and at fellows and valley water mill and popular bank angling spots around Springfield like Peckers beach, but I feel like they all kinda stink. Hours and hours of sitting for little to no bite.

There are a few places at the Big M COE park (Table Rock) where you can bank fish.  A point that is to the left of the swimming area and there's a flat to the right of the swimming area.  I would not expect a lot of bites, but there are always some spotted bass and panfish around.  Might even be a walleye off that point.

If you were closer to Grand Lake I would recommend some of the heated crappie docks they have around there. Always have a chance at some crappie, cats, or white bass from those.

Power bait, salmon egg hook, couple of split shot and any of the docks that are on Taneycomo.  There's a really easy one to get to just downstream of The Landing.  Benches are already there so no need to carry chairs.  Need a long handle net.  Good luck.

Good idea - trout are a good fish from the bank fish to catch.

Stole my thunder.  Especially the landing area.  They stock heavy there...  Lilleys can you line you up with the current "hot" rig.
