I saw this plant at Stockton yesterday.  I’ve never seen any aquatic plants there before.  One cove was jammed with it reaching the surface in 10’ of water.

               Curly leaf pondweed.

Curly-leaf pondweed | (Potamogeton crispus) | Wisconsin DNR

FS1235: Curly-leaf Pondweed (Potamogeton crispus): a Non-Native Aquatic Plant in New Jersey Waterways (Rutgers NJAES)

So and so forth. Seems like no one wants this invasive.

Thanks Marty.  Is it likely to become a problem?

It could be. Other States DNRs are concerned. As big and deep as our big lakes are it may not be. If it does it's going to take many, many years.

It is covering about 1/2 of the little timbered cove on the right as you go into Orleans Trail Marina cove.  I also saw some in Crabtree Cove.

Send a pic to the MDC, I think they have an invasive species contact.

Probably Kara Tveet (sure I misspelled it)  I know she works on hydrilla and other Aquatic invasive.  Aquatic invasive are pretty good at evolving to meet conditions else they wouldnt be invasive.  Small patches are not a bad thing but invasive never seem to stay small.
