I saw a well respected Table Rock guide alllow a guy to weigh in a fish that had been snagged on the outside of the mouth. When I protested he told me it was a legal catch. And since the guy with the fish was a repeat client of his, he didn’t want to cause any problems. Let the guy take big bass and first place. That guide is a POS.

Depending on the rules of the specific derby it may have been a legal catch.   Anyone who fishes an A-rig or jerkbait much has caught plenty outside the mouth.

So what is?

Justification. Maybe?

The Bible is immoral in more than one way.   Like Slavery, for starters.

It was not. It was a turd move by a turd guide. Was no loss to me, I only protested because I had the same exact fish in mny boat a couple of hours before it was weighed in. It wouldn't bite anything. I chased it for awhile before figuring out there was something wrong with it. I pulled up to it with the trolling motor and scooped it up in a net. I don't think it could see out of either eye and looked like it was just a zombie fish roaming around. I released it and we watched it wander around for a long time that day. We left the area a couple of hours before weigh in to go find a better fish. Then this idiot comes walking up to the weigh-in with that fish saying he hooked it outside the mouth. And the guide, who was running the tournament, let that slide and even agreed that it was a legal catch but that's not what the MDC says. And there were no special rules. It was a corporate event and nobody wanted to cause any issues. Especially the guide who knew he was going to get some of that cash from his repeat customer. So everyone let it slide, except me. :D

A book can not be either moral or immoral. Morality is a human behavior and varies from place to place, ethnic group to ethnic group and over time. What is moral behavior in your culture might not be acceptable in another culture.

What was considered morally acceptable in  this country 400 years ago would not be today.  And vise versa.

People live by it.   And judge by it.

Therefore......

Look at it this way....

If Bash Boy had caught it legitimately the the fish was gonna die and be turtle food.  So how can you get mad at the other guy ?

Not sure, honestly, how I would have handled that situation.   100k is a lot of money, the bash is an AMATEUR EVENT that I am not a fan of, and a caught fish is a CAUGHT FISH.

I've done shadier things for LESS money.  I'll just go right ahead and admit that in front of everyone. 😉 This is of course assuming that the fish was not snagged in the back, or the tail....but somewhere close to its mouth. 🤷‍♂️

I’ve never had a moral dilemma when fishing.   I guess because I don’t fish for money.   I have apologized to several fish before.  For hooking them in the eyes or gills.

Man, you are really taking me to the confessional today !   😞

I've lied.

I've trespassed.

I've experienced Greed, Pride, Gluttony, Envy, and probably every single one of the seven deadlys while fishing.

I'll be tying flys & loop knots for Satan after I'm done breathing this air.  That's for certain. 😥

Regardless of the multiple baptism's.
