It was a last second decision. If I hadn't have ran across some perfectly sized shanks while looking through hooks it wouldn't have happened. snagged in outlet 3

First time using that much UV resin to coat a body and I don't think I will do that again. Of course now I have effed up my arm and will not attempt to cast this. That looks deadly! I did actually put a fly rod in my truck for smallie fishing last week. However it stayed there on my last trip. I grew up fly fishing. Literally ran around the house with a car antenna with string on it when I was like 2 years old. I'm 63. I guess about 10 years ago I really lost my fire for it. Honestly, I got tired of 5 and 6x tippets and the delicate nature of fly fishing for trout.

I regularly carry both and don’t fish a fly rod as much. But I don’t try very hard anymore. I grew up tournament fishing and I’m content just relaxing now. I’ll catch some how I want to fish on that day, or I won’t. Offer still stands. Gavin, BilletHead, snagged in outlet 3 and 1 other 3
tjm
There are fly fishers that never go smaller than 3X for trout and my 5X at 5# test isn't as delicate as most spin fishers using 3# test for trout. Although trout aren't my favorite fly rod fish.

I don't care if it is three inches or three foot or better fish. I just like throwing flies especially chucking big stuff. Do what you like and like what you do Pete 😉.
