Been several drown at Caplinger over the years.  Before Stockton was built folks used to water ski in the millpond.  My FIL's brother was pulling skiers one day in my FIL's boat.  He failed to make the downstream turn and took the boat over the mill dam.  Surprisingly no one drowned.  Drinking was involved.  Boat was totaled.

It can be a scary place when the river is up. This was the scene of what we were involved with.

No, but I saved a girl from drowning when I was 19.   And although she was wasted on Jack Daniels & Quaaludes it was VERY obvious that she wasn't enjoying herself one bit.

We were at Destin about 20 years ago staying in a condo on the beach.  Black flag warnings due to riptides.  People were still swimming.  A guy got caught up in one and started to scream and panic.  I'll never forget the sound of his screaming.  Different than anything I ever heard.  He got dragged out and drowned.  We heard him all the way.  Spooky is what it was.

Sometime around 2000, I stayed at Sportsman's on the White River. I came back in from fishing and found a guide (Elvin?), two older women, and an older gentleman standing with the lodge owners around a pickup. In the bed of the truck lay another older gentleman, very dead. They were waiting for the sheriff or something. All, especially the guide, were quite shaken.

It seems the guide had the two wives in his boat and gentlemen were tagging along in theirs. As they drift fished both sides of the river, the gentlemen's boat hit a personal dock just down river from Sportsman's and the current rolled them under the dock. Only the one survived.

I had actually fished with that guide about ten years before. He was from Gassville and had something to do with law enforcement. Help me out here, was the name Elvin?

After watching my parents, my wife's parents and aunts and uncles pass away.  The best way to go is morphine with ativan.  Drift off into euphoria 😀.

Yes my Baby Sister was dying she telling me they had the best drugs.

I tried to die on a Doctor after Gallbladder removal. I tried dying he wouldn't let me.  Heck I wasn't in no pain and ready to go. He stayed with me until 5:30 AM.

Still not looking good I was thinking day after  Christmas. Nope we got plans.

Line size go separate on different weights other than my Travel Rods which will be 6#.

Sadly I have helped load recovery several drowning victims.  Mine were almost all from the lake and lake drowning victims can be down for several days.  I am one of those who are terrified of drowning.

After our body recovery we see things like this in a different way.
