Dewayne French Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Yes, I'm crazy and yes I went fishing Saturday.Β I only seen 2 or 3 other boats all day it's never like that on a Saturday even in the winter.Β I fished the lower end and caught some fish and never did get cold, but I was dressed for it. Had a blessed day stayed safe didn't tear up anything and didn't get wet. Got unloaded at the Old 86 ramp and stayed with 5 miles either side of it. My rig was the only one at ramp all day.Β When I got there at 7 the air temp was 28 degrees with a strong north wind and I fished until 4:30. It was 24 degrees when I loaded up. I don't know the speed of the wind, but as the big boys say it was gassing, all day.Β Water color was good and clean except for the wind blown stuff. The water temp was 46 degrees about everywhere I went. I should have tossed the old wart or crawler some, but my first fish of the day was a 3.90 spot on the damiki and that was kind of how I wanted to fish. I had some new heads and baits I have been wanting to try. They were busting through the shad balls around 30 feet.Β So I stayed with that most of the day except when I tossed a jerk bait and A rig. Caught fish on most everything I tossed, but the moving baits like Jerkbait, A rig and Ice jig got the better bites.Β After the first stop it was a hit or miss on the next 10 or so stops. You could see pretty quick if they where going to play? All in all it was a great day to be on the water. I was mad enough to go, so I did.Β Some of you will understand thatΒ π£π€£π. Dock-in-it Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Dewayne, thanks for the report. That strong north wind was to much for me to get out. There is a major algae/slime build up in the Kimberling area that goes out to at least 5-7ft so a crankbait would be a little aggravating.Β Glad to hear the lower lake is producing.Β Dewayne French and snagged in outlet 3 2

Members elite203 Posted January 22 Members Posted January 22 You were definitely madder at them than I was.... I sat in the house doing honey do projects that I put off for a rainy/cold day... Maybe next weekend
Champ188 Posted Saturday at 12:36 PM Posted Saturday at 12:36 PM I have 15 rods/reels chomping to go after I dismantled, cleaned and lubed every darn one of em on a couple of subfreezing days this week. Dewayne, it surprises not one bit that you were out Saturday. You never did have a lick more sense than me regarding such things, and that ain't much!Β π I hope you're doing well, brother. Miss seeing ya at the old CPA derbies and the BFLs. P.S. to all interested parties ... I discovered why the old BPS Pro Qualifier reels have been so popular ... they are made by Lew's. I dismantled a Lew's and a Pro Qualifier side-by-side and the only difference is the frame color. I believe every part would be interchangeable. Dewayne French 1
