Quillback Posted Thursday at 08:48 PM Posted Thursday at 08:48 PM Today was kind of a weird day. I found a bunch of fish on one of Randy's old spots, a long, rocky ridge that runs out off a bluff end. I caught 8 bass and 3 walleye off the end of that ridge, fish were in 10-20 FOW. Crazy thing was I missed something like 20 bites, and that's a conservative number. They liked a 2.8" swimbait, I'd get a bite, set the hook, have what felt like a solid hookup and they'd come off. A few I'd move a few feet towards the boat and they'd come off. Hooks are sharp and all that, I'd get good hooksets, but they'd come off. I may have uttered a bad word or two. Once those fish stopped, I fished another couple of hours in several spots and only had one more bite, and of course it got off. Wind was getting feisty so I called it quits around 1230. One of the wallies was a keeper, so I have enough for some fish tacos. WT 42-45. nomolites, snagged in outlet 3, DavidB and 4 others 7

Dutch Posted Thursday at 09:44 PM Posted Thursday at 09:44 PM We didn’t find the lucky spot. We fished from Cape to Jackson Hollow and had an Indian Creek day. Quillback and snagged in outlet 3 2
stinger160 Posted Thursday at 11:22 PM Posted Thursday at 11:22 PM Me too. Went out with a guide hoping to learn about livescope. 1/2 day morning trip. One fish. Could see fish but tough to get them to take it, lots of followers. As wind came up even harder to get the lure on target. This just might be a sign for me. snagged in outlet 3, Quillback and pstone 3
Bill Babler Posted yesterday at 01:18 AM Posted yesterday at 01:18 AM Thought about fishing that spot yesterday Quill but didn’t want to make the run from Eagle Rock. Glad they were on it for you. Randy might have abandoned us, but the Old River Rat left us a durn good legacy on locations to fish. Randy put the time in plus 1 and the gentleman never failed on the how, when, why and where. I learned a ton from him. You just had to listen to what he wrote. Pretty much the same with Dock-It. Thank you. I did not abandon you. I got old and parts started breaking. We got tired of driving 2 hours to see specialists.
