Experience Still Means Something

He may not be scoping but he has lots of other  tricks besides casting and cranking. 

He put me on a pattern and I ran with it. 

As we have touched on in the past, post spawn fish will gang up. Some of these locations will hold initially depending on location lots of pre-spawners. 

I’m the one who has been pounding the dirt, and he informed me they were already out there. 

Believe it or not, lots of the dam area guides are already out there with a night crawler dangling for their clients. 

Seems early for that, but there are just loads of SM out there.  For the past month I’m catching way more SM than I’m catching K’s in any depth. LM are running second. 

KC to the SK bridge. I have not been up the White, Kings or James yet. 

Don’t pigeon hole James. I’m guessing he has caught as many fish over deep trees on a flutter spoon a jigging spoon, jerk bait and a Redfin than a lot of us combined 😁😁

I wouldnt pigeon hole him, I now he has whacked more fish on the Rock than i may ever catch.  Starting soon the only thing on my deck will be a flutter spoon and a sexy dog.

That flutter spoon is something that I need to try. Looks fun and very effective.

That Wednesday deal sounds like a blast if you can get a few boats let me know. I’d love to fish it.

Bill I think he is referring to the regular weekly tournament out of Cape Fair.  You can check it out on the MO tournaments schedule site.

This week is listed 07:00-2:00 with 12 boats.

Sorry guys, not trying to stonewall anyone. Just got out of the habit of getting on here and need to get back to it. I'll try to be more "in the moment" as the corporate heads like to say (this week ... they'll have new jargon next week. LOL)

The deal back in late April indeed was a Fin. Some of these fish were as shallow as 3 feet but the best bet was to go to your best cedar tree creeks/pockets and try to make ultra-precise casts past the target tree and then guide your line through the limbs so the Fin swims so close to the tree that it literally bumps the trunk.  

You can also do this with a swimbait provided you have a very good weedless hook setup that will allow you to swim thru the limbs.

As Bill said, follow em out after the spawn by fishing the same places we followed em in at a month or so ago. I was fishing up the White the day I found em so good, but I would bet it's still going strong on the lower end. 

Now, about all of this ego-building nonsense ... those are some extremely kind words coming from some downright Table Rock hammers. I'm honored at such high praise. 

Again, I'll try to get back in the habit of hanging out on OA. I've missed it.
