grizwilson Posted May 15 Posted May 15 Gentlemen, I certainly am grateful for the @Bill Babler suggestions, hope to give Nightingale Supper Club and pizza a shot, Mr. Glidden is way over this fixed income budget. As for the Prince of Pierogi..... @Terrierman told us about this a few years ago...... I know they may not appreciate the recommendation from a guy with a quadruple bypass and four stents.... but we go every year at least once when up there.... The food is excellent, the Polish Beer is great, I am not really a beer drinker, but much better than that kraft crap. Ladybear and I usually attempt to go at a off time to visit with the Brothers, enjoy the stories Great Folks, good people. Looking forward to the Nightingale Supper Club when it gets hot in the Ozarks. Great area, music in the parks fish the small lakes mostly....... no 4 ft rollers for this old man. g DavidB, BilletHead and snagged in outlet 3 3 “If a cluttered desk is a sign, of a cluttered mind, of what then, is an empty desk a sign?”- Albert Einstein

Bill Babler Posted May 15 Author Posted May 15 Griz, we were going to fish Kangaroo. Have you fished it? Went up there one day and really couldn’t find a place to park at the ramp we looked at. About a dozen rigs were lining the road both sides and I would have had to back a city block between them. Thanks http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
grizwilson Posted May 15 Posted May 15 I have not @Bill Babler , since we usually take the 5th Wheel, I prefer not to double pull that far. Even though our youngest son lives in Chicago, we route around that circus. So I am limited to my kayak unless I hook up with one of the locals who are mostly interested in deep trolling for salmon. We have approached the Kangaroo from various angles.....simply too many folks, will likely try again this summer. I like the two little city lakes at Alaska, the Kewaunee County Lake and the Forestville Lake. The Ahapee River below Forestville to the mouth in Algoma is a prime spot for 6 inch bull heads....I have spent some time up the Kewaunee River from the mouth to the salmon hatchery .with limited success, but the river is full of crawfish I know I am just not figuring it out. Have to get out of my @BilletHead mindset and take more spinning and casting gear this year. Will share if I figure anything out. Appreciate your reports. DADAKOTA Posted May 15 Posted May 15 Door County is my favorite vacation spot. So much to do and see along with the great fishing. Whether its a gys trip, or one with the wife and family, it will not disappoint. On your way back to Missouri, make a stop in the tiny town of Newton, WI. and go to the Newton Meats. http://www.newtonmeatsinc.com/ They also have a FB page. My great Uncle started this place many years ago and the folks that own it now still use many of his recipes. Phenomenal sausage of every variety. Polish, Summer, and more brat variations than you can imagine. I always load the cooler on the way home and freeze it when I get back. Eat great sausage till my next trip north. Supper clubs throughout Wisconsin provide incredible dining experiences. Planning a trip for June/July. BilletHead, snagged in outlet 3, pstone and 3 others 6
Bill Babler Posted May 16 Author Posted May 16 I will most different stop. Sounds like my kind of place. Probably not a much better place in the country than Door County May thru October Katy bar the Door the rest of the year. However they said they had a super mild Winter this year. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Bill Babler Posted May 16 Author Posted May 16 Griz sounds like you need a Ned in your future with all those daddy’s. Kangaroo was busy the day Becky and I were going to try it. Several guides. I’m guessing they were blown off the Big Pond too. Parking at the Roo is a problem if it’s busy. Can’t really get off the road and it is as tight as hot water washed jeans, with rigs parked both sides of the road. I just don’t know if they have more than the one ramp. It was the only one we could find behind the golf course. grizwilson 1 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Members swelbo1 Posted May 17 Members Posted May 17 Bill, do yall stay in a VRBO, or a hotel for lodging? What area of Egg Harbor do yall stay? If anyone else has any lodging recommendations, please post. I will be up there August 24 for my wifes sisters wedding. I will be trying to find a guide trip at that time.
