I'm beginning to ad wakebaits to my top water tray and was wondering what your favorite wakebait is and why

Store bought/affordable -> Berkley Surge.

Best -> one of Babler's tuned Red Fins

As far as I know they have quit making Surge Shads, so the Red Fin would be the best option left.  There have been a lot of wake baits that have come on the market in the last few years, bound to be some other good ones out there.  

I like the look of these 6th Sense lures.  Have not fished one.

Floating jointed rapala works pretty good.

The best I have used are the Lucky Craft RC Wake crankbaits. I have successfully used the Jointed Redfins also.

You can heat the bill on a jointed rapala bend it to a 90  a bit, and it will wake. Still love the Mann's 1- and the baby 1-, and the redfin....Well, you will need to buy a few redfins to find one that runs well. There are some good old threads on hear.

The Bomber Jointed Wake Minnow is the best I have found since I can't find the Surge Shad anymore.
