grizwilson Posted Thursday at 02:25 PM Posted Thursday at 02:25 PM As @snagged in outlet 3 says put out the Wrench beacon @fishinwrench I did my normal replace the water pump impeller as I do every 2-3 years. It was not getting too hot but increasing temp at mid range throttle, fine at idle or WOT. It was showing wear so I put the "kit" in. Now it is fine at idle, ok at mid range but gets hot at WOT????? No idea if I need a thermostat or heaven forbid I put it back together wrong.....or ???? Deciding where to start or if I need to turn it over to a professional? After 5 heart procedures, cancer surgery and radiation in the past 3 years, not sure I am strong enough to tackle a big project. Thanks for guidance BilletHead and snagged in outlet 3 2 “If a cluttered desk is a sign, of a cluttered mind, of what then, is an empty desk a sign?”- Albert Einstein

Thanks for guidance is it getting hot enough to trigger a warning? sounds like a thermostat or flow issue, not a instillation issue. snagged in outlet 3 and BilletHead 2 everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.

It is only at WOT, I watch my gauge so no warnings I just drop back to idle until it drops, figure if thermostat it would do it at mid range??? “If a cluttered desk is a sign, of a cluttered mind, of what then, is an empty desk a sign?”- Albert Einstein
grizwilson Posted Thursday at 05:27 PM Author Posted Thursday at 05:27 PM Maybe I did not get the tube properly aligned?? “If a cluttered desk is a sign, of a cluttered mind, of what then, is an empty desk a sign?”- Albert Einstein

gotmuddy Posted Thursday at 08:12 PM Posted Thursday at 08:12 PM only getting hot at WOT makes me think you have a restriction grizwilson 1 everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
fishinwrench Posted Friday at 01:23 AM Posted Friday at 01:23 AM Possibly an issue with the water pressure "Pop-off" valve, or its diaphragm, (lower starboard side of the powerhead). grizwilson 1
grizwilson Posted yesterday at 10:58 PM Author Posted yesterday at 10:58 PM @fishinwrenchGlen I plan on pulling it a part this week and making sure nothing obvious is amiss. How far out are you on messing with it? Problem is that I can not tell much on muffs or a tank, it has to run to get hot??? You have a whole lake right there as long as its not froze. “If a cluttered desk is a sign, of a cluttered mind, of what then, is an empty desk a sign?”- Albert Einstein
fishinwrench Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago 15 minutes ago, grizwilson said: How far out are you on messing with it? About 2 weeks..... providing that the weather continues to improve. Just FYI: If you attempt to disassemble the Pop-off valve assembly, to inspect it, you'll need the 2 cork gaskets (at a minimum) because they will tear and won't be reusable.
grizwilson Posted 8 hours ago Author Posted 8 hours ago Thanks @fishinwrench I will not dig into the Pop-off, just the water pump assembly and make sure it is functioning properly. Will give you a call. Thanks fishinwrench and BilletHead 2 “If a cluttered desk is a sign, of a cluttered mind, of what then, is an empty desk a sign?”- Albert Einstein
