If you want an inland guide I have a buddy in pensacola that guides. I will message him. Members Xraydude Posted April 23 Members Posted April 23 I don’t have a specific person to recommend, but we usually walk along the marina when the boats return and check out who’s happy, who runs a clean ship and most importantly brings back fish and setting up for a picture. You get to talk with the crew for a minute and get an idea on how you’ll fish. The last time we went out, thought I’d made a bad choice, mate says we’ll be fishing a “Christmas tree.” Basically 3 good size hooks in about a 3 foot section. One hook had a piece of red tubing, one had green tubing and one orange. I thought what’s going to find these relatively small items in all the prop wash. Well in my best Forrest Gump drawl, “they dooooo!” Another trip I see all the boats over catching live cigar fish for bait. We head straight out and use frozen cigar bait. Strategic move because while they were wasting valuable and expensive time catching bait, we had the trolling run to ourselves and putting fish in the boat. Enjoy and have a safe trip! Flysmallie Posted April 23 Posted April 23 I’ve gone a bunch, all of it offshore. Been on huge party boats and little boats. Every single trip has been a blast. Some were better than others but that’s just fishing. Most have been out of Zeke’s Marina and we just book through them. Take a flyrod and hit the beach early. Just as it’s getting light. Tan & white #4 clouser. Sometimes you don’t even have to get your feet wet. Fish the troughs close to shore and hang on. grizwilson, Daryk Campbell Sr and BilletHead 3
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted yesterday at 01:23 PM Author Root Admin Posted yesterday at 01:23 PM We went out yesterday or off pensacola. Went out to some artificial reefs 8 miles out and caught mingo snapper. Then we chased bigger fish using small mingos as bait. Got broke off many times. They’d take it down to the reefs. Landed one Benita. Great day with the grandsons. Flysmallie, Daryk Campbell Sr, nomolites and 5 others 8
