Devan S. Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I elected to skip the draw of topwater stripers at Beaver due to the wind. Put the boat in at holiday island armed with 3 dozen worms, jigs, jerkbaits, and trolling rods. I thought the gates were open and I might have a chance at high water and anything that swims. Turns out they were only open about 24 hours....made the long haul all the way up to Bertrand and found out......caught 5-6 rainbows before working my way down looking for anything that bites. I did find several spots with big bluegills and one I am thinking is some sort of mutt. The big one was caught yesterday and weighed .61 lbs The mess from this morning....much slower today. Notice the oddball right in the middle. I caught 50 or so of the prettiest long ear sunfish.....I really enjoy looking at them and I wish I would have taken a picture of this one when I caught him as he was way more vibrant. He was nearly 8" long and thick.....I weighed it multiple times. .49lbs generally. Did get one reading of .5lbs. I caught some green sunfish hybrid mutt last weekend that weighed .84lbs but never did take a picture. nomolites, ness, BilletHead and 3 others 6

Al Agnew Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I think it might be a bluegill/longear hybrid. Not common but not unheard of.
