dtrs5kprs Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 Nice. Can't recall seeing that one before. Not shot from that angle at least.
Members bassinbill Posted February 18, 2018 Members Posted February 18, 2018 Picture of old bridge about 150' down using down imaging. Took the picture on my graph using a hand held camera. Only half of bridge remains now. liphunter, dtrs5kprs, terryj1024 and 5 others 7 1
Ketchup Posted February 18, 2018 Author Posted February 18, 2018 The photo was taken in 1927. From my readings, they had planned to blow it up originally. dtrs5kprs 1 TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.
Ketchup Posted February 18, 2018 Author Posted February 18, 2018 The bridge shown in the famous photo of the present Kimberling Bridge under construction and the old bridge below it is the bridge built in 1927. It was built after the first bridge over the White, erected in 1922 was washed out in a flood. The bridge was washed out by a flood in April of 1927. The Crane Chronicle reported, “Witnesses who saw the bridge go out said the heavy steel girders floated and bobbed up in the stream like they were of wood, then disappeared from view. It was considered remarkable that the heavy girders did not quickly sink from sight, but the flood water was of such force that they were carried away. About half of the bridge was washed some 300 yards down the river and a great deal of the long approach was also washed out.” Basfis, terryj1024, tho1mas and 3 others 6 TinBoats BassClub. vernon Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 That's a really cool photo. We have a black and white copy of the superimposed in color version above that we purchased at RJ's that's prominently displayed in our family room. Seems like I just can't resist idling over that thing at least once every time we're down there. This is one I took on my old Humminbird back in 2011. Now I'm gonna have to go back and try it again with my HDS 12! Do you do anything special with your settings to get that shot? I just as well try to fly the Space Shuttle as try to do "custom" stuff with mine! big c, tho1mas and dtrs5kprs 3 "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." Members Bob Whittaker Posted February 20, 2018 Members Posted February 20, 2018 Nothing special, the Lawrance units are pretty easy to use. I just run it on auto and let it do it’s thing: dtrs5kprs 1
