  1. Did man made global warming cause an end to the last ice age? 'The last Ice Age, known as the Pleistocene Epoch, began almost 1.8 million years ago and lasted until approximately 11,700 years ago.'
  2. Al, In the terms of the Marine Corps that's the way to adapt and overcome. Job well done. Fish on my friend.
  3. Harris122, My son and have been doing surf fishing in Florida for about 25 years. The time of year may? cut down on some opportunities but you'll have a good time. IMO 7'medium weight is ideal, 20# line is ok, drop the swivel and weight, The hardhead catfish are not very good as they are generally small. Use a 12" stainless leader with a snap swivel on it to attach to the bait/lure. I suggest frozen shrimp, you can even put it on a large rouge or similar. Just don't put a Ziploc of shrimp in your swimsuit while you fish. Use a yellow and white floating bait bucket on 20' of para cord leash. Fish and small blacktip sharks may bump it but they won't bother you. Gold or bronze spoons about 2" long are also killer for specks, ladyfish and jacks. If using spoons or tipped lure drop the sinker and stay off of the bottom. Keep your reel dry. Saltwater kills the type of reels we use here. Take at last two. If it gets wet it will tighten up and it's downhill from there. High or medium surf can really be an issue but get out early and fish the evening. Fish the channels between the sandbars parallel to the beach because that's where they roam. Get out waist deep to at least the second channel and hold on.. You'll be sunburned, have sea legs and a ton of fun. Fish on my friend and don't break off the bigboy!
  4. Why? It's such an ugly lake with poor fishing. The local speed traps may put up funding $.
  5. Wow MOhawghunter417! That's not very friendly. Yesterday I purchased 50 rd boxes of CCI for $3.47 at Wallyworld. the shelf was full.
  6. Phil-Time to jump in and stop the childishness.
  7. Champ188, your comments are insulting. Just stop posting a give me a break. You'd think I just stole your dog..
  8. Lancer09, That's what the G Loomis book said. So I assume it is saltwater bones. I don't know of any freshwater bonefish.
  9. G Loomis SR842-2/7 - GLX rod, Black 7'-2 piece 4#-8# line 1/16-5/16 lure weight Fast action Power-light Good for trout, grayling and bonefish $225
  10. Let me ask this without malice or ill intent to anyone. If you cant see someone in a kayak aren't you going to fast for the conditions?
  11. Is there a put in spot between the spring and Cardiac?
  12. I won't debate with an idiot. You imeadiately went to the 1800's. Good by.
  13. Wayne, fish more and don't listen to Al Gore. He's making money from you. Spend that money in MO. The stats you propose are more Hullybalohọ bull. Moana Loa has started and has been going off since I lived in Hawaii in the 70's and 80's. Find other data. The global warming folks seem to pick and choose what data they want to discuss. Please review data earlier than 1960. You are viewing a a very minute piece of the true global climate and it's flucuations. Have you ever studied sunspot flucuations?
  14. Long ago my wife and I had 10 lb 2 oz and a 10lb 1/2 oz babies. I suggest getting reproduction mounts made. Your baby is a keeper! Good job dad.
  15. Good job with the flags! Semper Fi, Bluewater
  16. I am planning on fishing Cardiac this weekend. Does anyone have any reports? Water levels, clarity, fish response?
  17. Not to make anyone mad, but, I have the best wife in the world. We stoppped in BPS with me telling my wife that I only needed a new cammie jacket and pants for a west Texas hunting trip. Well I'll be darned, the girl knows about shopping and putting outfits together! We walked out with new cammie pants, shirt, matching tee shirts in both long and short sleeve, suspenders, belt, hat and a jacket. I keep telling her that the ensamble paid off because we did really well hunting. Lot's of deer, rams, boars and rattlers. It's all about positioning your needs and keeping mamma involved my friends. May god bless the wives. Semper Fi and keep up the fishing and hunting.
  18. OTF, Your last response brought me out of the viewing woodwork, I must respond. You discuss the fact that you will be respectfull. Your last two quotes come from the type of person the majority of this discussion is about. A smart butt mouth if you will. Don't bring that around my property. I suspect that you are maybe 13 or 14 with your attitude. But, don't worry, all is well. you will grow up. The part about if no one thinks your an butt..., is insane.
  19. Maybe a minor correction, but, to prevent confusion as to the location, the signs say John and Betty.
  20. As I recall it was under "Cardiac and Landowner" I have not looked back for it but I'm sure thats were it was.
  21. Neither, the landowner is famous for his desire for privacy. There have been several posts about Big John the landowner.
  22. lizard, The cabin is being rebuilt a little further downstream due to bank erosion. Workers are present daily so pay attention to the no trespassing signs.
  23. GatorJet, I agree that you have a valid point on the larger streams/rivers. However, I once had a a GLoomis rod broken while being runover by a jet boat on a part of the Meramac that is only about 7' wide. The location is right above where the Dy Fork enters the Meramac from the north at a very narrow and shallow channel. I could not get out of the way fast enough while wearing waders to prevent the accident. I realize that almost all sportsmen are kind and considerate of fellow sportsman, but, a few bad apples spoils the whole bunch. The plough or plane argument will never be settled because of the words "jet Boat". It is perhaps a primitave argument but it does carry some validity in rare cases.
  24. Bill, That method of paddling is supposed to be a secret. LOL
  25. Only 28 days in February my friend. Don't want to make any mistakes when it comes to fishing
