  1. Yeah Stein, My Son and I caught 5 of them in less than an hour last Sunday. I also got a little walleye.
  2. Dang John, you should have been a salesman. Who doesn't like a kick in the shins?
  3. THIS ! You need to fish. Show us YOUR fish. Show us YOUR gear. Show us how YOU do it. No cut and paste, no links, and no BS. I love catching carp, but even I tire of the BS.
  4. Colder weather is just one of those things to deal with. Layer properly. Bring spare clothes and have a plan of what to do BEFORE you fall in. Time for me to get all that stuff ready again.
  5. I've got the yaks to get the job done John. We just have to clear time and make it happen. I'm getting my ducks in a row. I need to update you on some stuff.
  6. Gee Whiz Jeff, you sure are cold natured. Sub 20's is cold. >40 is not.
  7. Good Deal John
  8. Lol, you crack me up. I know you put your time in, I'm still paying the piper. And everybody else too
  9. It's a special river to be sure.
  10. I got my time off lined up. I hope the weather is awful and the fish are biting.
  11. I have converted to the Gorilla Glue Gel. Maybe not as Good as Loc Tite Gel, but plenty of holding power and not a 1/10 th of the aggravation of the Loc Tite. I agree with all the advice about closing lid promptly, keeping a clean tip, tapping bottle, and storing upright when possible. All good ideas. I never had much luck keeping Loc Tite clot free.
  12. Awwww Man, I never got to see it
  13. I don't know the limits on White Bass anywhere because I have zero interest in keeping any of them. I love to catch them, but they are a recreational fish only.
  14. I think I might keep 5 a year
  15. Pretty high gradient and smallish watershed. It goes down very quickly after a rain and is a treacherous wade/drag. There are several areas that have long stretches of exposed bedrock covered with a slime/algae. Multiple falls onto bedrock. No much fun. add in the fact that there are No USGS gauges. It's good when you get lucky and t)2 water level is right, but it's no better than the other creeks/rivers. there is no Holy Grail creek/river that others aren't fishing in this area. Wisconsin or Minnesota maybe
  16. That's a MONSTER! You Da Man! That's Fantastic!
  17. I got a 2017 GMC Sierra Crew Cab SLT 5.3 L V8
  18. I was able to carve out 4 days to go take my Dad fishing. He isn't able to go fishing by himself anymore and most of his fishing buddies are in similar situations. Big Cypress Bayou below Lake O the Pines is a Cypress tree lined jewel. I freaking love it. If I got to make a trip there in mid to late October/November EVERY year that would be fine by me. Shallow dingy water that has panfish, catfish, and bass. This year I had a special treat. My daughter was able and willing to make the trip down with me. She has always been close with my Dad. It was important to her to spend some time with him. We didn't get an early start either day, but we fished more than I expected too both days and caught decent numbers of crappie. My numbers were down, but I was playing guide most of the day. I took my trout boat down because it's better for my Dad, but it's harder to control and we a bunch of wind. New truck did great. I put over 1000 miles on the trip. At times, I averaged almost 17 miles to the gallon trailering the trout boat. Dang! My biggest disappointment was failing to catch a Spotted Sunfish. I tried.
  19. Done deal Jeff. Friday AM it is. If we are sure about those dates, I'll text Got Muddy, Richard Cross, and make sure LRF know ASAP.
  20. Watching my Dad's health fail and watching his personality change as dementia tightens its grip on him is very difficult for me. I fish because he fished and included me on his trips. He doesn't love fishing like he used to. I guess that's ok because he really can't fish very well any more and he can't go on his own anymore. I'm headed down this Friday with my daughter to take Dad fishing Saturday and Sunday for as long as he wants. It may be an hour or if might be all day. Hopefully, he'll enjoy himself.
