  1. Location, location, location. Go to the lower half of the lake and I bet you all the money in the world that changes.
  2. Nice fishing hole you got there Phil
  3. It was my pleasure to fish with Richard Button (friend of Billethead) on upper Taney today. I touched base with Phil and DD to get a feel for what my best options were. I had brought 2 Air Stream rods and my 4 weight fly rod. Both were thought to be workable options today. I had some issues with my USCOE Little Rock District app today. I wasn't getting some of the data properly. I'll have to watch this going forward. pretty chilly day. High around 40, wind 5-10 mph, mostly cloudy all day. I dressed appropriately, but it would not have hurt my feelings had it been warmer. Hand warming chem packs helped. This was my fourth trip ever to Taneycomo. I'm obviously still learning the differences between Taney and my version of the White River. And believe me, they fish differently. I did decide to use 4 lb leader material today instead of my usual 6 lb. I started across from Phil's on a current swept bluff bank. That would hold lots of fish on the White. We scratched out a handful of fish, but it was too slow. Ran up to another bluff above Fall Creek. I have caught fish there before, but zeroed there today. I quit being stubborn and ran up to the cable. Boom. Fish on, fish on, fish on, etc We repeated various drifts in that area the rest of the day. My stated goal was 25 fish. Got there. Then 30. Then 40. Then, I wanted a 50 burger. I lost 6 fish in a row after catching my 49 th fish. Started gripping the stick too hard, but finally caught another fish. So got that done. I was untangling a fubar when Richard asked me "you know it's getting dark right?" ME: "ehhh No". So I begged for a few more casts and we finished with a double. Finished with 51 for the day. I had lots of other chances, but I was often (but not always) slinging barbless. Richard had a very good day as well. He caught more fish on a fly to than I did and he caught plenty on a jig too. We both caught plus rainbows (17-19 inches). I had one real nice Brown trout. He wasn't super long, but he was a tank and pulled his butt off. Made my arm cramp before I got him in. Made the long cold run back to Cooper Creek public ramp. Said my Goob Byes and started my 2 hour run home.somnow I'm post supper, post Hot shower ; I'm sure I'm warm up eventually.
  4. I haven't caught one in 10 years so that seems like a lot to me.
  5. Blue Ribbon Fly has re-opened.
  6. Drew, do you ever catch any bowfin down there? I call them choupique, but you know what I mean.
  7. Drunk on Hateraid again?
  8. Cmon back to Mtn Home in April and you'll get your spot and have a shot at 4 trout species. We'll get you a Ozark bass in Norfork Lake. I know just the spot for it.
  9. 19 1/2 on Bull Shoals dragging a tube in about 25 FOW
  10. Pics or it didn't happen John.
  11. Hey Vernon, mostly agreed, but leave BassCat out of this. I don't think they have anything to do with FU Charlie. Man, that show blows. It could be good to if they were complete product whores and if they focused on the fishing.
  12. I want it to be about the fishing. I hate the BS drama about how stressed they are. Just fish and explain how you are fishing.
  13. Toledo Bend gives you a tremendous opportunity at a BIG largemouth bass right now. All my BIG bass are from Louisiana, but I did fish there a fair amount.
  14. We all have our crosses to bear. Free your mind.
  15. Or Louisiana.
  16. I've caught a couple >26 at Bull Shoals. One of which I saw eat my jerkbait. Pretty crazy.
  17. I had a skin mount done of a 6 1/2 lb Largemouth that I caught April 10, 1972. Not bad for a 9 year old, but that's the last mount I will have done. I have a free replica waiting on me in Texas for a 10.40 LMB from Toledo Bend. In general, I don't like replicas but the price was right. I try to get a good photo of special fish. Heck you might want to frame the photo with the actual lure you used. I keep all my legal walleye until they reach 26 inches. I release them >26 inches. That's just a random number I settled on. To each his own
  18. Good Luck Seth. I hope you enjoy it. I love how they load and throw the Jig. They are light weight and plenty sensitive. I only hate that they will go up on price $10 a year until ppl quit buying them. I do have one still in plastic put back for the next uh oh moment.
  19. I'm pretty tender hearted about fish, but the walleye are stocked there for you to enjoy. As long as you caught that fish using legal methods and it was legal size and part of a legal creel limit ; Don't sweat it. Stockton seems to have a lot of walleye
