  1. I would love to see some of the schedule BS go away, but I'm not sure the powers that be will change the EAST VS WEST thing. It sucks though that some teams don't have to play the big dogs to get to the SEC Championship game. Arkansas would have loved to have had Geoegia's schedule last year.
  2. You mad bro?
  3. Did anyone else watch LSU dominate Washington? It was a LOT of fun for this LSU fan. Coach Miles typically won't run the score up on anybody see the Ole Miss game last year. Arkansas has some serious problems. They should be able to keep ULM from beating up their QB. Alabama and LSU will abuse their QB if they don't fix that AND their defense must learn to stop somebody. I'll be watching the scoreboard this weekend. DOn't count on Satan I mean Saban calling his big dogz off the hogz. MIzzou and Texas A&M are going to take a while to really compete. They'll get there though.
  4. I was very surprised he got convicted of anything. He is most likely involved in harm coming to one or more of his wives, but they had nothing. There will be appeals. Casey Anthony walked and this guy got convicted. Weird.
  5. see if this is still valid http://www.taimentackle.com/pub/variants/0/0/1/0/0/2/0/7/6/0/XXL/XL_3436_6289e8b92f76c706bc7e5ebe9df192f5.jpg
  6. I fish with cajunangler from time to time. He gave me a beat down with that grub in that color one day so the few I have I bought defensively. I sort of need to keep the ones I have to avoid future beatdowns. I bet you could make a hell of a handpour. I'll keep looking on line from time to time for myself and let you know if I find any for sale out there.
  7. The Yum Muy grub was very durable, inexpensive, and caught fish. It sucks that they are gone, but there are LOTS of other grubs that will work just fine. That Ozark Smoke color was a little unique. Look on Tackle Warehouse. They run good specials on the Tiki Grubs from time to time. The Shad color is a decent replacement for the Ozark Smoke. Not really a look a like though. Bass Pro has a nice little grub (XPS), but they are awful proud of them.
  8. I'm trying to funnel in some of the little armored digging machines myself. So far I've only caught one of our cats.
  9. www.gatortackle.com. They have some YUM products, but it doesn't look like they have Muy grubs anymore. Bummer.
  10. Really sucks that this product was discontinued. I have a bag or two, but not worth the trouble. Do a goggle search. I think there is a company out of Florida that might have some.
  11. I enjoy reading about your bees. Easy to get caught up in whatever you normally do and not think about how the weather is affecting other people and their pursuits.
  12. That's a very nice offer. Good stuff at a very fair price. BUT, I've got soooo much more than I can use already.
  13. I'm so looking forward to it. I might get to float the Buffalo again this year!
  14. I wish, but I'm not optimistic. Slow moving with the eye going west of us is what's required to get a soaking. I'm hoping for a minimum of wind damage.
  15. Plus you get extras like the mink on a mid stream rock eating a crawfish, muskrat, bald eagles, and the ever present Kingfishers. I did have a double on my Topwater, but one pulled off. I also have a giant Brown flash on a pretty decent Rainbow I was fighting. I'm starting to dial in on locations that work for me. We floated the 12 miles in 7 hours. That's about 5 hours shorter than normal for a float of that length when I'm fishing. Really guys that like to fish for trout owe it themselves to fish NFOW some.
  16. I got a shuttle from one of Justin's staff at Sunburst. We put in at Hammond and took out back to Sunburst. It was mainly a float trip with my wife, but I did have to bring four rods and a full tackle bag. I ended up with 27 fish brought to hand. Nice smallies on WTD Topwater and almost everything else on a Zig Jig. All the Rainbows I caught were beautiful and strong. I had one about 18 inches. I also saw about a dozen really big Brown trout. I haven't caught a NFOW brown yet. I again was impressed with the trout. It isn't a numbers trip like Taneycomo or the White River near home. But the fish are all really nice sized and colored up. I saw a lot of smallies that wouldn't eat for me. This is 50 year low water levels and I still had zero dragging issues.
  17. I've never asked them. I will ask next time I renew my access pass. There are a half dozen places that could really should be bouyed. The maps I have clearly shows most of them, but not everybody has a map. LCD dephtfinders do not adjust quickly enough to prevent a grouding ie You can not just run with an eye on your depthfinder.
  18. Grass carp?
  19. I had an 0800 dentist appoint which kind of put the screws to a creek trip. I tend to focus on river fishing in the summer and have all but zero experience on the lakes in the summer time. Soooo the Bass Cat followed me to the dentist. I launched out of Jimmy Creek which wasn't necessarily a mistake, but lots of clean up is still underway from the docks that were destroyed / heavily damaged from the rough weather event they had. The ramp is open to public use, but I would most likely launch elsewhere next time. Surface temps were around 79' when I launched around 10 AM. I trailed out a spinning rod that I had re-spooled and then ran up lake. Boat ran like a champ. I love my Cougar. I did a lot of looking for fish in 25-40 with my depthfinders. I have heard some good jigging spoon reports. I never really found anything. I did some jigging on standing temp in the Point 11 area. Water from 25-50 foot. Not much at all happening there for me. I ran a little ways up the Theodosia arm into a crreek there and put my eyes on all of iit. I found a few brush piles for later. I tried hard for a carp I saw actively feeding, but I spooked him before he found my little jig. I saw evidence that there were other carp actively feeding in VERY shallow water. That's likely an oppurtunity for folks that are looking for shallow carp on the fly. BE CAREFUL There is a shallow spot in the Saddle area. It is about a 30 yard wide egg shaped area of hard bottom that would ruin your day. That high spot rises to just about 5 foot below the surface when the lake is at normal pool. That area is not safe to run at this water level under any circumstance but now someone has taken it upon themselves to stack rocks on this high spot. Now that spot will have multiple points that could hurt boaters at full pool. A few panfish bailed me out so I did not zero, but incredibly slow for me yesterday.
  20. I made a trip to Ohio to fish with a friend. We caught good numbers of sauger/walleye hybrids bouncing jigs on bottom in river systems. Aggressive little turds.
  21. Thanks a lot. I appreciate the help.
  22. I use Med Heavy Fast Tip Baitcasters with 15-20 lb line. Sometimes Fluro and sometimes Co-poly. I'll drop shot with 6 or 8 lb copoly, but when spooning I'm not going any lighter than 12 lb and 9 out of 10 times go 15 or more.
  23. Sure would be nice if they could write the laws to exclude Power Biat and soft plastics like that and still allow smallmouth fishermen to fish the soft plastics we would prefer to use. Would a skirted jig with pork be legal?
  24. Did a float on the Bryant yesterday with Cajun Angler. The water seemed to be up a tad with a little bit of stain. We floated from Sycamore to Warren Bridge. Fishing was a little slow. The extra water made floating very easy, but I think disrupted normal summer patterns. CA was I'll. He wanted to go so badly that he made the trip when he most likely would have been better served staying home. We got a little bit of a late start as he tried to decide how ill he was. I was waiting at the take out for CA to arrive when a nice gentlteman and partner put in a canoe at WB. He noticed me waiting and gave me a couple of local fishing magazines to read while I waited. I said Thanks, but would like to say Thanks again if he is an OA guy. Lots of interesting stuff happened, but CA won't have many happy memories from the trip. I hope he's better today.
  25. Wait until they stock in October and it is relatively easy.
