  1. Launched the boat shortly after Sun Up and pulled it out a little after Sundown. I wish the day could have lasted about another 6 hours. mid 40's air temp, got up to low 50's later. Rain. Some times harder, sometimes softer BUT rain within 15 minutes of starting. That's why I have Good rain gear. Cabela's Guidewear treated me right. Again. water temp 59-62' water clarity was Awesome. So Fun to watch the fish you are catching pull pull pull fish are still deep, shallow, and in between. Lots of ways to skin that cat right now. Pick the one you like and find the place to make it work. I force fed a 17 inch smallie a swimbait in 25 FOW on a wind blown bank. I missed a couple of other bites. I suspect smaller fish that dream big. picked up my Buddy Lincoln Godfrey. He loves to catch Big crappie. So Big Crappie we did catch. Bobby Garland Baby Shads fished around select boat docks and standing timber. 1/32 and 1/16 oz heads. Of course, you also catch small bass of all three species and other sunfish while doing that. Godfrey had to bail to return to real life. I turned to boat back out in the cold rain and force fed them drop shot rigs until I got tired of being stupid and pulled out a Ned rig. I found a stretch of bank that was loaded with fish and was getting bit every stinking cast. I had some hook failures and breakoffs which got in the way of numbers. I had a hook failure on a sub keeper walleye. I had 4 Big Crappie on a Ned and a big Bluegill too. I finished with 54. Pics or it didn't happen. So carry on I suppose.
  2. Misshaped toad crappie on Ned.
  3. No keeper LMB all day

  6. Yeah Stein, My Son and I caught 5 of them in less than an hour last Sunday. I also got a little walleye.
  7. Dang John, you should have been a salesman. Who doesn't like a kick in the shins?
  8. THIS ! You need to fish. Show us YOUR fish. Show us YOUR gear. Show us how YOU do it. No cut and paste, no links, and no BS. I love catching carp, but even I tire of the BS.
  9. Colder weather is just one of those things to deal with. Layer properly. Bring spare clothes and have a plan of what to do BEFORE you fall in. Time for me to get all that stuff ready again.
  10. I've got the yaks to get the job done John. We just have to clear time and make it happen. I'm getting my ducks in a row. I need to update you on some stuff.
  11. Gee Whiz Jeff, you sure are cold natured. Sub 20's is cold. >40 is not.
  12. Good Deal John
  13. Lol, you crack me up. I know you put your time in, I'm still paying the piper. And everybody else too
  14. It's a special river to be sure.
  15. I got my time off lined up. I hope the weather is awful and the fish are biting.
  16. I have converted to the Gorilla Glue Gel. Maybe not as Good as Loc Tite Gel, but plenty of holding power and not a 1/10 th of the aggravation of the Loc Tite. I agree with all the advice about closing lid promptly, keeping a clean tip, tapping bottle, and storing upright when possible. All good ideas. I never had much luck keeping Loc Tite clot free.
  17. Awwww Man, I never got to see it
  18. I don't know the limits on White Bass anywhere because I have zero interest in keeping any of them. I love to catch them, but they are a recreational fish only.
  19. I think I might keep 5 a year
  20. Pretty high gradient and smallish watershed. It goes down very quickly after a rain and is a treacherous wade/drag. There are several areas that have long stretches of exposed bedrock covered with a slime/algae. Multiple falls onto bedrock. No much fun. add in the fact that there are No USGS gauges. It's good when you get lucky and t)2 water level is right, but it's no better than the other creeks/rivers. there is no Holy Grail creek/river that others aren't fishing in this area. Wisconsin or Minnesota maybe
  21. That's a MONSTER! You Da Man! That's Fantastic!
  22. I got a 2017 GMC Sierra Crew Cab SLT 5.3 L V8
