I wasn’t giving you trouble about what you call them, I just find them to VERY interesting however they cross👍

Oh.... thanks Bo, I guess the only ones I have ever caught were Smallie/Spot mixed and it’s funny they will usually appear to have more of one than the other.... like this one has more Smallie than Spot but it’s a mix for sure.... these mixed bass intrigue the hell out of me

Cool report.... your hybrids down are very pretty and seem like they have more Spot than Smallie.... it’s really wild how that works, either way that fish in your pic is absolutely stunning.

Yer doing killer Dave.... stay the course and ask us questions anytime. I like seeing the progression of someone like you because of your obvious passion for it. You are an awesome angler.... river bass fishing is tough at best -
Wtf seriously??? Hahahaha seems fairly typical for the company.

Hahahaha that is wild as hell man.... I had never had the pleasure of getting all up close and personal with one of those. Our net wasn’t gonna do it so I had to pick up by the tail and hug it -

I figured you like that prehistoric thang.... it was my first and I didn’t want to hurt it but, did want a pic.... I had to grab it by the tail and hoisted in on in hahahaha -
Well my friends Mitch Fields and Paul Mees and I had planned on fishing for some Smallies on our reunion trip well in advance because schedules but, Mother Nature did a number on the water clarity. Mitch decided to find good water at all cost and we ended up at the Osage. By the way that is one excellent quality about my friend Mitch, he wasn’t gonna give up. Even though I was kinda being a female doggy about the river being blown out, he pressed on and got us on 🐠fish🙂 I haven’t fished there in many years but, as it used to be there, it was a Jurassic sort of day. You just never know what yer gonna run into on this river and today was no exception. We immediately started nailing quality bass on the Tackle HD Finesse jig paired with one of their small craws (WOW WHAT A COLD WATER COMBO THAT IS). Paul nailed a quality 4lb largemouth and we were off and running. I ended up catching a nice Walleye and then a nice 5.4 lb Largemouth we all caught our fair share of Largemouth and Spots and even a white bass... then comes Jurrasic moments. Mitch ran into a Drum the size of trash can lid but bigger hahahaha then.... I ran into a large Bighead Carp, which screamed some drag. Then I hook up on a Five foot Paddle fish hahahahaha typical Osage.... that place hasn’t changed at all 😃 the reunion trip was a blast as always and we caught some fish as usual and jokes were told as fast as possible. Mitch and Paul I had a blast as always

Oh nano??? No I’m a little buzzed hahaha

YES......screw the leader you don't need it.....scratch that I have never needed one nor has it seemed to affect how much I get bit but, that is just my opinion though.

Dang very nice Dave.... man do I love 💕 a nice crank bait bite... very nice report Dave

Does anyone know if you can park and launch a boat from the HWY 17 bridge???.... I swore my dad and I did in the past. I thank you in advance for your info

Thanks...interesting

agreed with all of this bigtime One thing though what do you guys consider a keeper??....I don't keep bass so I have no idea what a "keeper" is. I was talking about bigger fish and I rarely see any bigger bass being posted on the Table Rock forum. I mean 2 to 3 lb bass are okay but, that's not what I'm talking about. Sorry a lake that size should be producing more bigger bass. I don't see many big ones coming from there unless you guys are just not posting the pics.

AGREED 100%

I have been wondering the same thing. We catch bigger Smallmouth out of rivers with very little depth of water or forage compared to Table Rock. The White River strain Smallies may be closely related or actually are Neosho strain??....which if they are just don't get as big but, are a very cool and unique strain of Smallmouth. There should be more bigger bass in that lake IMO..... fishing pressure or not. I had one on across from the State park on a topwater bait and lost it at the boat that was an extremely long Smallie that I would guess in the 5lb class no doubt.....other than that just a bunch of 3lbers never any in the 4lb class. I would like to and often dream that the next state record will come from Table rock but, it just hasn't happened??

what he said.....I can't wait.....I lost a giant at my feet last evening after making close to 60 casts in the same general area......then out of nowhere a mushy and muted bite, I set the hook and the fish didn't feel particularly big but, when I got her near the bank I just about crapped myself as it was a frigging giant. I lost it One run later and wasn't even bummed but, it was a dang HAWG.

Very nice Jim. What you guys have to realize is Jim is sooo far ahead of most anglers where he fishes with his jigs he ties to his tackle. It is EXTREMELY impressive to me to see the fish he catches because I know where he goes and nobody is doing what he’s doing. We belong to a group of goofy anglers who fish UrbanWeirdWaters and the fishing is not easy.... not many catch or even think fish are where we fish. Jim excels in the UWW and it’s nice to see the fruits of his labor.

Oh hell yes!!!... that is epic IMO
