Be sure to show your math.

Goats are one of those critters that used to be cheap and took care of themselves. The price of them is unreal now and for some reason you need a good guard dog to protect them. What happened to the old mean Billy goats. SCOTUS case mere clarified that EPA didn't have legal authority to do what they did, all that needs to happen is to pass good laws to make it happen. Those plants can still sell those "pollution points" to other plants that can't meet the requirements. Most bizarre thing I ever heard if but worth a lot of money. If someone wanted to build a new hydro, nuclear, or whatever power plant and had the backing both political and financial it would be 15 to 20 years before it was fully on line.

That actually makes some sense as the Ratatouille we made didn't look anything like the movie. I mean if you can't trust an animated movie with a rat as a chef then what is left to believe in.

Many years ago after watching the movie Ratatouille my son decided he (mean us) should make Ratatouille. I will admit it was good but It didn't look nearly as composed as yours.

And the out put of solar panels decline over time, fair bit of toxic waste comes with building them as well, maybe not as bad as with ethanol production not entirely sure there. Plus a computer controll of some sort of make it all work correctly. No one thing is an answer short of a major technology breakthrough in solar panels, charging and storing the electricity etc. Personally I like the "old style" windmills. They look cool and nobody ever complained about them. Not much for producing power but hey they look cool. I suspect the time will come when as a society we will have to begin removing things from the grid and powering them via solar or wind separately.

Heck yeah I would eat that!

Navery is on point.. And always have a rod rigged for whites and hybrids. My best quick strike rod for that is a blue chrome rattle trap, when they start busting shad get amongst them as it might not last long.

Oneshot I bet you have seen more EVs than you realize. We have had some at the lake, one of the issues is re charging them. To do it quickly requires a high amperage charging station which there aren't any around there. Standard electrical pedestals of 30 or 50 Amp will do it but takes a lot longer, and if they don't have the proper charger will constantly trip breakers. Again ain't no free lunch.

EVs have an amazing hole shot off the line. They are pure acceleration. I am sure there are different size motors and different ones accelerate differently, but still pretty hot off the line. But S I say several times a week there ain't no free lunches. Batteries, solar panels, wind generators, price, in the end society will have to decide what is more important and act accordingly while working to improve them. Personally I have no problems with wind and solar generation and electric cars but ya gotta accept dead birds, inefficient solar panels when super hot or in inclement weather. Electrical usage is not going to go down around the world, question is how do you feed that usage.

You need better Amish. I pass one of their little stores every day and their tomatoes are fabulous, don't keep qell but they do s.ell and taste like a mater should. Right now they have a bunch of cantaloupe and if I have a seakness it is for cantaloupe. 5 for 4 dollars and I tend to dig around in the big bin and get over ripe ones, can't hardly stand the ride on home they stink so bad. But dammm are they good. Stopped last night for some plums and nectarines. The had a couple of boxes of "soft" ones, 6 cantaloupe for $2. Took all of my willpower not to have them also, but still had a couple on the porch from last stop. Tonight however if they are still there I will own them and if I have to drive around and find folks to take a free cantaloupe so be it.

Maybe you can still do some gardening in prison.
-
Back when I had lots of garden it wasn't unusual for folks to stop and help themselves. Usually someone we knew and would have picked it for them. But I have a thing for thievery, I might give them all they can haul but dang it I hate when they steal it.
-
Heck my neighbor has been bringing me green and ripe tomatoes and some onions. Didn't say where he got them though. Hmm. My Maters were way late but are growing well in the containers just sucking up the water right now.
-
Always keep a rod rigged with a Blue Chrome Rattle Trap, you never know when an acre or two of lake will erupt in a feeding frenzy of whites mixed with hybrids. Plenty of walleye in that area too just too dang hot for me to chase them now. Trolling crabks on Truman can result in just about anything.

House moves to repeal the Pittman-Robertson act.
MOPanfisher replied to Gavin's topic in Conservation Issues
Very few people are actually anti Second Amendment, most who say they are disagree with either a portion of it or the repeated SCOTUS rulings. I have no issue with "gun control" as we have had gun control certainly since 1968, but am quite certain that my level of gun control would not be the same as that of others. -

What??? Politicians doing something pointless simply to enhance their election potential or raise money. There's a shocker. -

Is there waste involved in the PR money distribution? Absolutely as there is waste in every Govt spending right on down to local levels, hell I have waste in my personal spending. However the goal should be not to "throw the baby out with the bathwater", but to remove waste and clean it up. PR is a criticalfunding source for many states. And yes it is only a proposal that has zero chance of going anywhere just like dozens of proposals or bills that are filed every session and die a well deserved death. -
I quit watching the news a couple years ago but I admit i do enjoy reading conspiracy theories and goofy stuff I get a lot of amusement out of them. Apparently even the Amish are out to get us.

It's strange at times. Some⁸ counties have moved to medium risk due to increased number of COVID cases. Friends cane back from trip to Greece with covid its just not the news that is "popular" to release. Lots of boats and campers purchased in last few years and lots of people with no clue how to handle them. But they can learn.

Well spoken people can espouse ideas and concepts woven together from small bits of factual data. However that doesn't make their end predictions any more accurate than myself or anyone else saying stuff. I wish in my lifetime I had kept track of all of the end if the world or end of life as we know it predictions. Usually it is good for certain businesses and producers but overall no major changes. I am more concerned with droughts, floods, and ice storms. Although shortages of things like rainbow sherbet do cause me some concern. Will there be rolling blackouts like the west coast has, maybe but what are any of us gonna do about it. America needs to come to grips with the fact that we have to produce more power, and that it comes with a price. There ain't no free lunches.

If you need someone to be around I will ride herd on ya for a day if you want/can go carping.

Hasn't been any concentrations serious enough to be feasible to test. Advice given is to evaluate the water before entering, if it smells funny, or looks like green paint in the water stay out. Too many factors to predict it well, water clarity, temp, sunlight, wind. One thing I did discover by Google-ing, level of the toxins declared harmful to humans is 8.0 PPB and level declared harmful to dogs is 0.80 PPB.

An excellent problem to have!

Hybrids (tomatoes) usually are more resistant to blight and other diseases, and have more consistent fruit size. But there is no free lunch, generally they don't have the flavor if the old ugly ones. I usually have at least 3 or 4 different varieties, some heirloom some hybrid. Best producers are always those little wild type cherry tomatoes that want to come up as volunteers in compost pile or elsewhere. They produce any annoying amount of little maters.
