I LOVE fresh pico. One of my favorite summer things.

From the east is no problem as the access is on the east side. But you most definitely won't get across from the west for a while. Last time I saw it there was no deck on the bridge and it looked like the steel beams were next. To me cave hole is on the right bank but hat is just because we reference everything as left bank and right bank while looking down stream. I tried to screen shot the area. Cave Hole is roughly in the center of the screen where the river turn back to the east. There is a parking area there and it gets a fair amount of use by bank fishermen during spring.

IF you know the channel and are careful and a little brave you can run up well past cave hole. There are some "flats" then a good hole and a bend, usually you can't get past that at "normal" flow. Riding with someone who knows the area is a bit unnerving. I am a coward I don't run it, idling is good. BTW when the sun goes down up there it gets DARK as there is nothing to use for reference. Also the bridge at PP is closed until May looks like.

My tractor is making some good ruts too. Gotta have some some rock delivered to make repairs so I can keep using one side of driveway. Other side has hay bales line up on it. Fortunately a few days of wind and dry will help a lot, ain't much dirt on my place.

River below dm at times can b very good for walleye or crappie, if water has been running good for a while. Above the lake is usually good early in spring and in fall for whites and crappie and bass. Walleye?? If I ever figure them out, well I probably won't tell anyone! And yes the upper ends will be muddy, cold and trashy.

Mostly I am just lazy. Besides I like the spring mix salad boxes. OK let me see, marinade coca cola, soy sauce, a dash of worchester sauce, some bbq sauce, a little brisket rub and I think that was it. After marinading I seasoned liberally with my house seasoning (s/p/gp) and a little cavenders because I like it. Dessert was almost as well thought out, for me some good vanilla ice cream with raspberry preserves, for wife, mom and grandson pudding cups in butterscotch and lemon flavors. The chops were exactly as I like them with a little pink in the middle, not much but a hint.

Had a half a hog delivered last week, didnt pay much attention when unloading into freezer, was in a hurry. Today I pulled a package of big thick pork chops. Marinated them all afternoon, now they are getting some quality time on the grill. Have a pan of zatarins yellow rice and a salad in a box. Already made a wilted salad for lunch just couldn't wait.

I think I still have one of the large tapered pedestals in my building from my old champ. Doing nothing but gathering dust if you have any use for it.

I keep checking around pasture etc. But so far no issues, it's windy here but not really rocking yet, soon though I suspect.

Properly prepared or Fixed right. There someone had to say it. -
Those are some healthy looking fish!

Just great now I have a metal picture that will take a lot of whiskey to remove.

Well now, something to try. I need to.make fish chowder again. Of I can get out this spring, white bass are a great foil for the chowder. Deep fry some extra to put on top and viola.

Haven't had anything worth putting for a while. Tonight for our Sunday friends dinner she made Shepards Pie, and while I am not normally a fan of English cuisine this one was very good. She wasn't happy because she used ground beef and ground lamb and didn't like the smell of it, but I and everyone else thus it was great. Add in a tray of roasted root veggies, sweet potatoes, carrots and parsnips and I am now in a food coma. Especially after a lunch of ham and beans, diet be dammed.

Looks real good, the Pit Boss pellet system does a good job.

Pomme de Terre Lake COE now has a Facebook page. Hopefully this link works. https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=195970837988787&refid=46&ref=content_filter&__xts__[0]=12.{"browse_result_type"%3A"browse_type_place"%2C"click_type"%3A"result"%2C"module_result_position"%3A0%2C"module_role"%3A"ENTITY_PLACES"%2C"result_id"%3A195970837988787%2C"session_id"%3A"21f202d334c02a3d617c9301b52d9664"%2C"unit_id"%3A"mtouch_bem_res%3Ae755310c832d33dbeb1eebe07a574aea"%2C"unit_id_click_type"%3A"graph_search_results_item_in_module_tapped"%2C"unit_id_result_id"%3A195970837988787}

Inside the house = wife. Outside = me, the porch well that would be no man's land and I say it belongs to me. I am the master of my house, and I decree that whatever my wife wants I will provide, if I have to, I guess.

Whatever comes out of that thing, I hope it's better than the disasters from an easy bake oven.

Man that would be some stinky concrete. -
I looked hard ar pellet grills and the pit boss ones in particular. IF I didn't have a smoker already I would get ine, as is I am gonna get another gas grill. I love the flavor with a charcoal one though. Tell wife that grills, boiling oil and outboard motors is your arena, she just has to enjoy what you provide. Oh and good luck with that.

My theory is that a certain percentage of people in this world are jerks, a few are completely and totally bat crap crazy. Of those people a percentage ofnthem.own docks, run businesses etc. That's just life. In general people are good and while I don't just wander around expecting everyone I meet to be angels neithe do I expect them to be villains, if I owned a dock on a lake (never gonna happen) I certainly wouldn't begrudge anyone some shelter in a storm, I also would be unlikely to come running with a thermos of coffee. I would have a speaker system just for my amusement though. I would become grouchy quickly if someone was going through or using my stuff. I am that way at home, have a breakdown and need to fix something certainly my shop is right by the road, just be there looking around at what equipment I have (have had that happen) and you will very quickly and brusquely be invited to leave and nothing you say is gonna make it better.

Yes there is a very salient point here you have missed. Dutch made a small joke about Global Warming because it was cold. And then this happened, spring can't come soon enough, we will be arguing about best carp recipes and whether or not to fillet some kentuckies.

Pomme conservation pool is 839. The actual target elevation is a sliding scale. Beginning I think around March 15 the target becomes 841 until June 15 then slides back to 839 for a target until fall where it goes back up some. The spring "rise" is to benefit fish spawn, the fall one is for waterfowl. I am a little fuzzy on exact dates as I am at home now. Will see what I can find on line and post it though. Whatever the target level it is still only a target, mother nature seems to enjoy driving the train, rain/drought etc. There are several factors that go into determining the rate of release, Pomme and Stockton have a "tandem balance" with Truman based upon things like % of pool utilized at the time, plus benchmark elevations and flows on the Missouri River and all the way to the Gulf. Compared to lakes like Truman Pomme is fairly stable with a relatively small drainage basin, however when we get a big rain event concentrated in the basin it can rise quickly.

Sure hope I don't go to hell for lying about my fishing success.
