  1. Yep, yep and yep. Watch for the weirdo’s with the bananas on their dashboards. when I worked in north STL I knew better than to leave pocket change on my console, same rules apply in rural Missouri.
  2. Beautiful fish.
  3. I feel your pain brother. Don’t worry, the creeks will still be there, they will be screwed but they’ve always been screwed. You, Al and the rest of us who have been sidetracked will be able find the paradise we’ve always loved. Mike,
  4. JDM, is correct, the future is now, recreational fishing is not possible (enjoyable) on most of the main stem rivers for much of the season. No big deal, there are plenty of funky places with just enough water to float a boat that haven’t been spoiled by recreational boating.
  5. This is the future of our rivers.
  6. Lengua is wonderful, any decent taqueria will have it.
  7. Geenies go in the bucket with the Gills, taste great.
  8. The river has stabilized after high water a couple of weeks ago, it should be in fine shape. Good luck.
  9. I like to throw bright colored spiders as well, the bright color is for me to watch, I doubt the fish care. I use poppers to search for fish and during the last hour of daylight.
  10. Just the columns by Don Zahner and Nick Lyons make your collection a treasure, I hope it finds a good home.
  11. I appreciate your reports, not as good as being there but it helps.
  12. For a couple of decades I had an uncanny ability to run a Jon Boat through boulder gardens and shoals with half the depth really needed, that’s gone. I’m probably going to suffer a similar fate finding fish if I can ever get back on the water. I hope I never lose my love for rivers and gravel bar camping.
  13. Here is another fascinating dam collapse story, fortunately this one was a near miss. https://damfailures.org/case-study/fontenelle-dam/
  14. That Johnny Cash was what I needed to end end this day, I’m saving Willie, it I’ll be a good way to start tomorrow. Thanks Bob,
  15. The upper Mississippi valley is beautiful, thanks for the report.
  16. Yes, at the boat ramp on Niangua, we ate baloney sandwiches, had a great time, nice guy, he loves that river.
  17. I’d rather spend the day with those ole boys and their noddle rods than some young bucks and their exaggerated double hauls. Fun video, thanks for posting.
  18. I haven’t seen the river but it should be perfect, good luck.
  19. Go through the Joplin image history on google earth, it’ll put a knot in your gut.
  20. Yeah, it should run in 4” empty 6”-8” loaded, of course you can’t be afraid of kissing a rock or two. Sounds like a perfect boat for me, the timing is just not right.
  21. Now that would be a good use of Metrology.
