  1. What colors have you been using on the ned?
  2. I always thought that a Lund or similar with a 200-250 would be the best setup for LOZ and Table rock during the busy times
  3. Just because you can't use them on your lake doesn't mean they are useless. I take a trip to fish up north, Minnesota or Wisconsin, every year and I wish I had them every time. They have a use and when you need them I am sure they are great. Similar to spot lock trolling motors. They are a $1200 luxury add on to a $800 trolling motor, but once you have one you will not go with out.
  4. Here is the home page for the Missouri Water Patrol Regata permits. Search lake, month, year and you can find any tournament that was given a permit. https://www.mshp.dps.missouri.gov/WP04Web/app/searchRegattaWeb?action=Search+Again Good Luck
  5. Are there any public fish cleaning stations on the lake? When I go crappie fishing I usually go down for the weekend and stay at a resort and use their facilities. For those of you who go for the day, where do you clean your fish?
  6. I saw that one too, it is interesting to watch him with a jerkbait in his hand. I think the filming of that video is a couple of years old though, he has a motorguide on his boat and he announced that he switched to Minn Kota in Jan of last year. Kind of weird, but I am always curious of when these shows are filmed.
  7. It must be spreading. I saw one on LOZ the other weekend too.
  8. SOLD
  9. There prices are about the same at the other top brands.
  10. I recommend Charlies at Rock Lane. It is close to you with good food and a good bar. I believe they have an all you can eat ribs and catfish on Fridays.
  11. I was getting mid 40's for a water temp.
  12. Came in Friday to thunderstorms and tornado sirens and woke up to low 40's and wind Saturday. Went out looking for some crappie but didn't have much luck. We started off targeting shallow per the reports from last week and was rewarded with several nice spotted bass. They really helped make the day. Caught them on crappie jigs in less than 4' of water. We had another larger bass hooked but came off. With no luck on the crappie shallow we moved out a little deeper. We only caught a handful and all of them were on jigs. The ones we caught were in 8-12', I think the cold may have moved the out deeper. The wind and cold forced us to head back in without a limit. Hoping for a better outing in a couple weeks.

  14. I jumped on this deal for my daughter when they had smaller sizes. This is going to be one of here Christmas presents. good luck http://www.cabelas.com/product/HERTERS-ROARING-FORKS-LUG-SOLE-WADERS/1833026.uts?slotId=0
  15. I fished both Sat and Sun with my wife. We were in the Toyota tournament and had a wonderful time. This was my second year at this event and we talked some friends to come down since they just purchased a new toyota. They will be back every year too. As far as the fishing, it was very tough to put patterns together. We caught fish on everything from jigs in 20' to topwater up shallow. We were one of the several boats with 1 keeper on the ned. I lost one that jumped and spit my jig that looked like a keeper and my wife had a solid fish break her line while fishing the ned. While I caught fish on several different lures, my wife caught more fish than me and she threw the ned most of the weekend. I know that there are several posts in this thread about the amount of boats on the lake lately, I just wanted to say that the lake felt more empty this weekend than most of the times I have been on it. Never did I pull up to an area and see more than a couple boats even in the cove. I don't think I was even close enough to talk to anyone in another boat while fishing all weekend, I fished from the dam to past long creek marina. Don't worry about what how many regatta permits are on the web page, just go out and enjoy the wonderful resource that is Table Rock Lake.
  16. I talked with Hank Parker over this summer about line and he said that he hates Vanish because it will break for no reason. It will work great at times and then break without any abrasion. He only uses Trilene 100% Floro, both products are made by Berkley and he is sponsored by Berkley, so take that for what it is worth. Like Nitroman said, there are a lot of other choices out there.
  17. Total Regatta Permitted days issued by the Water Patrol for Table Rock April - 91 May - 63 June - 70 July - 55 Aug - 51 Sept - 63 Oct - 39 I think it looks like the lake will be pretty open this month, compared to the rest of the year.
  18. I will be one of those boats heading down this month. I just wanted to say thanks for letting me come down and experience what your lake has to offer again. I don't want to move you off of your spot on the lake, so just let me know where you plan on fishing and I will make sure to stay out of your way on your lake. Thanks again for the invite.
  19. Phil, Do you know if there a plan in place to remove the cars?
  20. Is there a size limit for keeping walleye on Tanney? Over the years I have read that several of you guys have caught them but no one ever tells of keeping them.
  21. I like the idea. Try hooking up with Bassinbob. He already has the subscription service going. Maybe you both could work on a southwest area bassinbob or offer a premium subscription with your data added to that service. I would actually pay for that. I don't want to pay for reports from people who are not always truthful about fishing anyway, but if you add unbiased science into the mix that could actually help someone who doesn't live near the lake to start patterning fish before I even leave the house. I am in.
  22. I am confused on the complaints in this thread. It sounds like you think there are no fish in Table Rock and that tournaments are killing the few that are left. I fish the rock a few times a year and can catch 50-75 fish per weekend, even per day this time of year. This place is awesome, my favorite lake. I pass several other lakes in the state to get there too. If i didn't know better I would ask Phil to move this thread to the Mark Twain Forum. That is the place that can use some better fish management. The rock is just fine with me and I hope they don't change a thing.
  23. I took the family down for several days and stayed in the Indian Creek area. The fishing was so good for us that in 4 days I didn't use 1/4 tank of gas. 4/19 Got on the water around 2:00 and found a cove close by that was pretty protected from the wind. Started on a gently sloping bank with timber and put the boat in 20'. There was 3 of us in the boat we all have different stuff tied on, but the best performers were the Ned and the c tail grub. In 3 hours we had over 25 fish with 5 keepers. 4/20 Woke up early to get some time on the water in between rain showers. On the water before 7. 3 of us in the boat again, and again the Ned and c tail grub were the best performers with the Ned out fishing the grub. Fished 4 hours this time and ended up with over 35 fish, still only about 5 keepers though. We even had 3 fish on at the same time once. 4/21 The rain stopped enough for us to get out again for about 2.5 - 3 hours. Only 2 of us this time. This time we only stuck to the Ned. I could tell that the lake had started rising. The temps were quite a bit colder and there was a constant light wind. All that didn't seem to mind the fish, at least the smaller ones. We ended up with around 25 fish and only 3 keepers, one of them being over 3lbs. 4/22 Woke up early again to get some time on the water in between rain showers. On the water before 7. Only 2 of us this time again. Only one rod each this time, Ned rig. Found that the lake had risen quite a bit and there was a lot of water running off into it. Not sure if the fish were moving up shallow because of the rising water or if there were just little fish up shallow all along, but we found a lot of little fish up close to where water was pouring into the lake. 7 fish in 7 cast at one point. Ended up with over 30 to end the weekend. The angle of the bank didn't seem to matter for us as long as there was gravel mix or only gravel bottom. Timber did help with the larger fish, but not necessary. It did seem that the bigger fish came earlier in the week and tailed off as the weather got worse, but that could have been that we just wanted numbers and didn't go hunting for bigger fish. Ned Rig did was the best lure for the weekend, but we caught fish on the grub, jig, wopper plopper and spook.
  24. These things are very early in the overall development of the technology. I look at them as if they are in the "flasher" stage. I can not read one of those things, other than depth. To me the 360 and Panoptix will have to go through another couple of generations of upgrades before they are practical for my type of fishing.
  25. If something is not changed, Ranger will go the way of Champion. Ranger is a company that, apparently, is too expensive to continue with their current business model. The company was in financial trouble before it was sold a few times. They may be "building them one at a time", but they are not building an acceptable profit. Johnny doesn't do anything without a large profit. Things WILL change. The customer may not see it right away, but the company will.
